Verdict: Virgin TV 360 is a polished, capable pay-TV platform for households that still want a proper recording box, live channels, profiles and multiroom viewing inside a Virgin broadband bundle. Its modern interface, voice remote and conventional PVR features are genuinely good. However, it is not the strongest all-round TV proposition in 2026: Virgin is directing many new customers towards Stream, its integrated app selection has historically lagged behind Sky’s, and multiroom installation can be more dependent on cabling and networking than newer wireless alternatives.
That makes TV 360 an attractive choice for some existing Virgin customers, but a much less automatic recommendation for someone starting from scratch or building a streaming-first setup.
Virgin TV 360 at a glance
| Best for | Less suitable for | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Virgin broadband households that record live television and want several rooms connected to one subscription | Viewers who mainly use standalone streaming services and do not need a hard-drive recorder | App availability, pricing and even the box offered depend on the package and customer status |
| Families that benefit from separate profiles, watch lists and voice search | Homes where running coaxial or network cabling between rooms would be difficult | Multiroom is not a universally wireless experience |
| People upgrading from an older Virgin interface and wanting a cleaner daily experience | V6 owners who rely on downloading recordings to a mobile device | TV 360 recordings cannot be downloaded through the TV Control app |
What is Virgin TV 360?
Virgin TV 360 is Virgin Media O2’s UK implementation of the Horizon TV platform. It brings live television, recordings, catch-up, on-demand programmes and streaming apps into a single television interface rather than treating them as separate inputs or devices.
The central proposition is still traditional pay TV: browse a channel guide, pause and rewind live programmes, schedule recordings, and watch content in other rooms. The box adds more modern touches, including household profiles, personalised recommendations and voice search.

It is not a standalone television service. Virgin’s shop information specifies a minimum M50 Fibre Broadband requirement for TV 360 operation, so the platform is tied to Virgin’s broadband and TV packages. The television box connects to the display over HDMI. Regional channel availability, HD access and package features can vary, so the box should not be judged independently of the bundle in which it is supplied.
The most important 2026 question: can you still get TV 360?
For a new customer, availability is now as important as performance. A comparison dated 23 January 2026 reported that TV 360 and Sky Q were no longer the standard products sold to new customers, with Virgin directing new customers towards its Stream proposition instead. Offers can vary by address, package and commercial period, but the practical lesson is clear: do not assume that ordering Virgin TV today means receiving a TV 360 box.
Existing customers may still have TV 360 equipment, be offered an upgrade or renewal involving it, or encounter it as part of a particular offer. If Virgin presents you with Stream instead, you are considering a different hardware proposition and should not apply every TV 360 review to it.
This transitional status is why TV 360 is easier to recommend as an installed platform or an offer-specific upgrade than as the obvious default for every new subscriber. Ask Virgin exactly which box, recording features, apps and multiroom equipment your address and package qualify for before signing a contract.

The user experience is where TV 360 most clearly improves on Virgin’s older TiVo-era interface. A hands-on review found a cleaner guide, shared household profiles, personalised recommendations and separate watch lists. The platform supports up to six user profiles, which is useful when several people watch different programmes and do not want one person’s viewing history to dominate the recommendations.
The voice-enabled remote makes searching less laborious, particularly for programme titles, actors or genres that are awkward to enter with an on-screen keyboard. Virgin’s help material also confirms that the Virgin TV Go app can act as an additional remote for a TV 360 box. That is a small but useful recovery feature when the physical remote is misplaced or when controlling the box from a phone is more convenient.
Apps are accessed from Home > Apps, or by saying apps into the voice remote. This creates a coherent workflow: live channels, recordings, catch-up and supported streaming services are presented from one home screen instead of requiring repeated changes of television input.
Recording and live television features
TV 360 remains a conventional personal video recorder, and that is its strongest practical reason to exist. You can pause and rewind live television, schedule individual recordings and use Series Link+ for returning programmes. It is well suited to households that record documentaries, factual series, news programmes, entertainment or other live-channel content rather than relying entirely on catch-up services.

A 2026 comparative guide lists the TV 360 box with six tuners and 1TB of internal storage, and describes it as capable of recording up to six programmes at once while watching another. The exact recording experience can still depend on the channels and services involved, but TV 360 is substantially more useful as a recorder than a basic streaming-only box.

You can set recordings and Series Link+ schedules from a mobile device using Virgin’s TV Control facilities. There is an important limitation for anyone comparing it with older Virgin hardware: Virgin explicitly says that recordings made on TV 360 boxes cannot be downloaded through the TV Control app.
That limitation is easy to miss because Virgin TV Go has a separate offline-download function for selected content. TV Go downloads are not the same as transferring recordings from the TV 360 hard drive. If mobile access to your own recordings is part of your routine, check this point before accepting an upgrade from a V6 box.
Streaming apps: useful, but not the widest selection
TV 360 integrates major services. A hands-on review included Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub among the available apps. That is enough for many households, but the same review identified Disney+, NOW, Apple TV+ and BritBox as omissions at the time it was tested.
Those omissions should be treated as a dated review snapshot, not as a permanent 2026 app list. Virgin’s January 2026 app guide says availability depends on the box and subscription, and that new apps are added over time. In other words, the exact catalogue can change and may not be identical between TV 360, Stream and different packages.
The safe buying process is to check the current app catalogue on the exact hardware and subscription you are being offered. Do not rely on an old review, a general Virgin advert or the assumption that an app available on a smart TV or streaming stick must also be available inside the Virgin interface.
Comparative coverage continues to place TV 360 behind Sky’s platform for the breadth of integrated streaming apps. That does not make TV 360 unusable for streaming, but it weakens its claim to be a single replacement for every television and streaming device in the home. If your household mainly watches Netflix, Disney+, NOW, Apple TV+ or other app-based services, compare the exact catalogue before paying for a channel bundle and recorder you may rarely use.
Content additions do not eliminate the app caveat
The content position has continued to move. Sky Atlantic was reported as scheduled to arrive on 1 April 2026 for Virgin customers with Sky Entertainment, while additional FAST channels were reported as being added to the 360 and Stream platforms in July 2026. These developments improve the broader content proposition, but they are date- and package-specific. Check that a channel is included in your particular subscription rather than treating a platform-wide announcement as a guarantee of access.
Picture quality and 4K support
TV 360 supports Ultra HD and 4K where the programme, service, box and television all support it. A hands-on review reported 4K HDR support on compatible channels and streaming services, while Virgin confirms that 4K viewing requires compatible equipment and, where applicable, HDCP 2.2 support.
That is a capability, not a promise that the Virgin catalogue is delivered in 4K. The cited Virgin shop information identified compatible services such as Netflix and YouTube but did not list Virgin TV channels in 4K on the relevant page. Most live channels and programmes should therefore be expected in their ordinary HD or lower resolution unless the specific content is advertised as UHD.

- 【Plug & Play & Wide Compatibility】Featured with standard HDMI and USB ports for diversified connection and file expansion. The plug-and-play design allows effortless installation, perfectly suitable for home, office and daily entertainment scenarios.
Setup note: The box needs HDMI to connect to the television. If your existing lead is missing or damaged, a 4K HDMI cable is a sensible replacement for a compatible 4K setup, but no cable can create 4K content where the channel or programme is not supplied in UHD. Use a compatible television and check the HDMI/HDCP requirements as well.
Multiroom: flexible in content, less effortless in installation
Virgin supports multiroom through additional 360 Mini boxes or Stream boxes. These can extend the same subscription’s live channels, apps and on-demand content to other rooms. Virgin’s help material also describes watching recordings on another box connected to the same network, while its newer product information says viewing can remain synchronised: pause in one room and continue in another.
Recommended Free Tools
Additional Stream boxes are described as 4K-ready. That is useful if the main television and a second-room display have different capabilities, although the actual content still has to be available in 4K and included in the relevant service.
The trade-off is installation. TV 360 is not a completely wireless multiroom platform. Depending on the equipment and layout, Virgin’s setup information refers to coaxial connections, HDMI, power and network requirements. Some homes will accommodate those connections easily; others may need cable runs, a suitable network connection or an installer’s help.
This matters particularly in older houses, rented accommodation and rooms far from the router. A wired connection can be more dependable than an unstable wireless signal, but it is less convenient than simply placing a small wireless streaming box wherever there is a spare HDMI socket and power outlet. Do not buy networking accessories before checking the exact Virgin installation plan: the required connection varies by box, room and network arrangement.
Virgin TV Go: useful extension, with changing limits
Virgin TV Go extends the service to phones, tablets and laptops. Virgin’s current TV 360 information cites up to 100 live channels, alongside catch-up and box-set viewing. Selected content can also be downloaded for offline viewing, subject to the package and the rights attached to the programme.
Older TV 360 guidance stated that TV Go availability depended on the customer’s package, that not every live or on-demand programme was available, and that up to five devices could be registered with two devices watching simultaneously. It also described availability in the UK, with temporary EU access under the terms then in force. These limits may have changed, so treat them as useful indications rather than guaranteed current contract terms and check Virgin’s current customer agreement.
The app is therefore a helpful companion, but it is not a complete duplicate of the television box. In particular, TV Go’s selected offline downloads do not restore the ability to download recordings made on a TV 360 box through the TV Control app.
Accessibility and household usability
Virgin Media O2’s Ofcom electronic programme guide accessibility report says that the Horizon platform, marketed in the UK as Virgin TV 360 and Stream, has undergone accessibility review with the Disability Action Centre. Virgin reported testing with users with varied accessibility needs and using their feedback in product development.
That is positive evidence of an accessibility process, but it is not proof that the platform is universally accessible or equally suitable for every impairment. The practical experience can depend on the remote, voice-control accuracy, screen presentation and the accessibility tools of the connected television and individual apps. Anyone with specific access requirements should check the current feature set before committing to a long contract.

Pricing and value: the box is only part of the calculation
There is no single fair price for TV 360. Virgin’s offers are bundle-dependent, regionally variable and subject to contract terms. The cited shop information refers to package-dependent HD access, regional channel variations, typical 18-month minimum terms on the offers shown and the possibility of price increases during the contract.
That makes a cheap headline offer difficult to evaluate without knowing the full monthly cost, the length of the minimum term, activation or equipment charges, the broadband tier, the channels included, the cost of extra rooms and what happens when a promotion ends.
TV 360 offers better value when a household genuinely uses several of its features at once:
- Virgin broadband is already the preferred or required home connection.
- People record live channels regularly rather than watching almost everything through standalone apps.
- Several household members benefit from profiles and personalised watch lists.
- More than one room needs access to the same subscription.
- Voice search and an integrated guide are preferable to juggling separate streaming devices.
It is harder to justify when the household mainly watches streaming apps, already owns a capable smart-TV platform, does not record programmes and would pay for a large channel bundle simply to obtain a few desired services.

| If your priority is… | TV 360 makes sense when… | Look more closely at… |
|---|---|---|
| A traditional recorder | You want pause, rewind, scheduled recordings, Series Link+ and substantial internal storage | Whether the exact new offer includes TV 360 or a different Stream box |
| Streaming-app breadth | The services you use are confirmed on your package | Sky or a separate streaming device if you need a wider integrated app catalogue |
| Easy multiroom | Your home can accommodate the required coaxial and network connections | A newer wireless-oriented platform if running cables is impractical |
| Mobile access | You mainly need live TV, catch-up, box sets and selected offline downloads | The loss of TV 360 recording downloads if upgrading from V6 |
| Lowest long-term cost | The complete broadband, TV, equipment and contract price remains competitive | Broadband-only service plus separate streaming subscriptions, or another current bundle |
What to check before ordering or upgrading
- Confirm the hardware. Ask whether the offer supplies TV 360, Stream, a 360 Mini or another box. Do not infer this from the word Virgin alone.
- Check your exact apps. Verify the current catalogue on the specific box and subscription, especially if you rely on Disney+, NOW, Apple TV+, BritBox or another service.
- List the recordings you use. Confirm storage, simultaneous recording needs and Series Link+ behaviour. If you are moving from V6, specifically ask about mobile access because TV 360 recordings cannot be downloaded through TV Control.
- Map every room. Identify where the main box and additional boxes will sit, where HDMI and power are available, and whether coaxial or network connections are required.
- Check the display chain. For 4K, confirm that the television, HDMI connection and HDCP requirements are compatible. Also confirm that the content you want is actually available in UHD.
- Calculate the whole contract. Include broadband, TV, HD or premium-channel charges, extra boxes, installation, minimum term and possible price changes rather than judging the introductory monthly figure alone.
- Check regional availability. Channel line-ups and commercial offers can differ by address, so use your postcode and the written package details.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Clean, modern guide and home screen.
- Profiles and personalised watch lists for up to six household users.
- Voice search and a voice-enabled remote.
- Strong conventional recording, pause and rewind functionality.
- Six-tuner, 1TB specifications reported in current comparative coverage.
- 4K capability on compatible services and equipment.
- Multiroom access to live television, apps, on-demand content and recordings.
- TV Go provides mobile live-TV, catch-up and box-set access.
- Content and FAST-channel additions continue to develop.
Cons
- It is no longer the obvious standard new-customer path compared with Virgin’s Stream proposition.
- The integrated app selection has been narrower than Sky’s, and availability depends on the box and subscription.
- TV 360 recordings cannot be downloaded through the TV Control app.
- Multiroom may require coaxial, HDMI, power and network connections rather than being fully wireless.
- 4K is limited by content and equipment; it does not mean every Virgin channel is UHD.
- Bundle pricing, regional channels, contract terms and possible price increases make value difficult to judge from the box alone.
Who should choose Virgin TV 360?
Choose or keep it if you are already a Virgin broadband customer, want a PVR-style experience, regularly record live programmes and value having the same subscription available in several rooms. The interface is a meaningful improvement over older Virgin designs, and the combination of profiles, voice control and recording is still convenient for a busy household.
Think twice if your viewing is almost entirely Netflix, Disney+, NOW, Apple TV+, YouTube and other streaming apps. You may find the app catalogue or bundle economics less attractive than a simpler broadband-and-streaming arrangement.
Be cautious about multiroom if you cannot run cables or your router is poorly positioned. TV 360 can deliver a strong multiroom experience once installed correctly, but it is not the most effortless option in every home.
Compare carefully before leaving V6 if you depend on a function that matters more than interface polish, particularly downloading recordings through the mobile TV Control app. An upgrade should be judged against the features you actually use, not just the newer remote and redesigned menus.
Final verdict
Virgin TV 360 is a good recorder and a pleasant everyday television interface, not a complete all-in-one winner. Its strengths are tangible: recording remains central, the guide is cleaner, profiles work well for households, voice search is convenient, and multiroom can bring live and recorded content together across the home.

But its transitional market position, variable app catalogue, wired installation demands and bundle-dependent pricing prevent it from being a convincing all-round recommendation in 2026. For the right existing Virgin customer, it remains a sensible and capable platform. For a new buyer, the first question is no longer simply whether TV 360 is good; it is whether TV 360 is the box actually available, and whether its recorder-led feature set matches the way the household watches television.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Virgin TV 360 still available to new customers?
A comparison dated 23 January 2026 reported that Virgin was directing new customers towards Stream rather than selling TV 360 as its standard new-customer product. Availability is offer- and address-dependent, so confirm the exact box before ordering.
Can Virgin TV 360 record programmes?
Yes. TV 360 supports scheduled recordings, Series Link+, pausing and rewinding live television. Current comparative coverage lists a six-tuner box with 1TB of storage and describes it as capable of recording up to six programmes at once, although actual behaviour can depend on the channels and services involved.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Can I download TV 360 recordings to my phone?
No. Virgin states that recordings from a TV 360 box cannot be downloaded through the TV Control app. Virgin TV Go does support selected offline downloads, but those are separate from downloading recordings stored on the TV 360 box.
Does Virgin TV 360 support 4K?
Yes, where the content and equipment support it. You need a compatible 4K television or device and, where applicable, HDCP 2.2 support. Compatible services such as Netflix and YouTube may provide 4K, but this does not mean every Virgin channel or programme is delivered in UHD.
Is TV 360 multiroom wireless?
Not necessarily. Multiroom can use 360 Mini or Stream boxes, but relevant installations may require coaxial, HDMI, power and network connections. Check the required layout with Virgin before assuming that an additional room can be connected wirelessly.
Which streaming apps are on Virgin TV 360?
The catalogue changes and depends on the box and subscription. A hands-on review included Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub, while identifying Disney+, NOW, Apple TV+ and BritBox as omissions at that time. Check Virgin’s current app guide for the exact package you are considering.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Virgin TV 360 remains a strong conventional TV recorder wrapped in a modern interface, but its legacy status, changing app catalogue, installation requirements and bundle pricing keep it from being a genuine all-rounder. It is most convincing for existing Virgin households that record live television and want multiroom access—not for every new customer or streaming-first viewer.
