If you have just finished Season 2 of the Vinland Saga anime, start the manga at Chapter 101 and read it from its first page. The season’s finale adapts Chapter 100 and the opening pages of Chapter 101, so you will see a few pages you already watched. That small overlap is the safer choice, because starting at Chapter 101 avoids skipping any material the anime left out.
Where the anime stops
Third-party episode and chapter guides agree on the boundary, though they describe it differently. One episode guide says the season “ends around Chapter 99.” A more specific chapter-to-episode conversion guide places the finale at Chapter 100 plus pages 19 to 25 of Chapter 101. The more precise version is the one to trust, since it tells you exactly where the adaptation runs out. Treat the page range as the guide’s own page count, not an official page number from the publisher.
Why Chapter 101 is the right handoff
Chapter 101 is the bookmark that keeps you from missing anything. Starting at Chapter 102 would skip the unadapted remainder of Chapter 101. Starting at Chapter 100 is also a reasonable choice if you want to reread the finale’s source chapter in full, but it is not required. You do not need to jump to a later arc to find the continuation.
The trade-off is repetition. Opening Chapter 101 from the top means reading the pages the anime already covered. For most readers that is a few minutes of familiar material, which is a small price for a clean handoff.

Chapter numbers versus volume numbers
Use the chapter number as your reference point. Print and digital editions group chapters differently, so volume numbers are not portable between them. The table below shows how the references line up for the continuation point.

The English Book 8 mapping comes from a third-party guide, not an official table of contents. Before buying, check the publisher’s listing for the current edition’s contents, because the mapping may differ between printings.

Where to read it officially
Kodansha publishes the English manga, and its official English series catalog lists the Vinland Saga collected volumes. Official chapter access is offered through K MANGA, which lists chapters individually. Availability varies by country, so the chapter you can open in one region may not be available in another. If you cannot find Chapter 101 in your region, check the series page on Kodansha’s English site for the current options rather than relying on a third-party download.
How to start reading
- Confirm that you have finished the finale, which adapts Chapter 100 and the opening of Chapter 101.
- Open the English series listing on Kodansha’s official site, or search for Vinland Saga on K MANGA.
- Find Chapter 101 by chapter number, not by volume number, and open it from the first page.
- Expect to see the first pages you watched. Keep reading past them to reach the new material.
- If you prefer print, buy the English 2-in-1 Book 8 only after checking its contents on the publisher’s listing, and make sure Chapter 101 appears in it.
Verify before you buy or link
Three things can change between now and when you read. Chapter numbering can differ between a volume and the digital chapter list. Volume contents can change between printings. Regional availability for K MANGA chapters and print editions also varies. Check the official listing on the day you buy or read rather than relying on a guide that may be out of date.
