Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students made Cageran Hamlet Profile, a documentary intended to record and introduce activities and local potential in Cageran Hamlet, Tamanmartani Village, Kalasan District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. A JurnalPost report published October 9, 2026, describes the project as student-led documentation and promotion—not as evidence of increased tourism, income, or audience reach.
What the documentary covers
The film presents examples of community activities and local initiatives in Cageran. The JurnalPost report names the Anggrek Mukti livestock group, the Women Farmers Group (KWT), fisheries, and community-based economic activity. It also mentions hand-drawn batik tourism managed by the Anggrek Sekar Batik Group, Jemparingan Pavilion, and Cageran Edupark.
These are subjects identified in the report; it does not provide visitor figures, operating details, or measures of their economic importance. Its central aim is to make local activities more visible and preserve a visual record of them.
How UNY students made and shared it
The project reportedly ran from August through September 2026. Students began by observing the hamlet and interviewing its head, village officials, and residents. They filmed with mobile phones and used drones for aerial views of the settlement and surrounding area. The team edited the footage in DaVinci Resolve, adding narration, explanatory text, and background music.

Before publication, the students submitted the film to Cageran Hamlet Head Okky Linggarjati for input. The report says it was shared on the KKN Instagram account @martaniikarsa and Cageran Hamlet’s official account, @padukuhan.cageran. The report does not include a direct link to the film, and its posts and continued availability have not been independently confirmed.
The team was led by Syurahbil Muhbit, alongside Roy Wira Aryono Jelipele, Istianah Latifatuz Zahra, Nisrina Aisyah, and Fatchurrahman Heza Al Farabi. Dr. Kiromimim Baroroh, S.Pd., M.Pd. is named as the field supervisor (DPL). The students also documented resident activities and screened documentation at the KKN farewell event.

What the project can—and cannot—show
The report presents the documentary as a visual archive and a promotional resource. Syurahbil Muhbit is quoted in the report as saying, “Cageran’s potential is very diverse, but it has not been well-documented. Through this video, we want the residents to have a medium to introduce Cageran to more people.” Hamlet head Okky Linggarjati is quoted as saying, “We highly appreciate the initiative and collaborative work of the UNY KKN students.”
The report connects the project with SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals). These are the report’s stated connections, not independently assessed outcomes. It provides no documentary view counts, audience-reach figures, community-interaction results, tourism data, or income measurements; it says economic impact needs further measurement.

How to assess the documentary’s future usefulness
Different goals require different evidence. The report proposes checking views, audience reach, and community interaction, but gives no results for those measures. Economic or tourism effects would require additional outcome data rather than relying on the film’s existence or circulation alone.
- Visual archive: The reported filming and documentation establish an effort to record local activities. Whether the film remains useful as an archive depends on access and how well it represents those activities over time.
- Local promotion: Posting on the two named Instagram accounts is reported, but audience reach and interaction are not given.
- Tourism or economic outcomes: The report identifies attractions and livelihood-related activities but does not show that the film increased visits, sales, income, or employment.
The account of the project comes from JurnalPost’s October 9, 2026 report, rather than an independent UNY or Cageran government publication. Its descriptions and attributed quotations should therefore be understood as reported there.
