Is Untamed getting a season 2?
It is. Netflix Tudum confirmed the renewal on March 4, 2026, stating that Untamed is coming back for another season. Production is underway on Oʻahu and the island of Hawaiʻi, and Eric Bana is returning as Kyle Turner.

The continuation is notable because the first season was designed as a self-contained six-episode story. Co-creator and showrunner Mark L. Smith said he and Elle Smith originally envisioned “a stand-alone six episodes,” but the cast and characters made them want to continue the story. Bana said he was “absolutely thrilled” to bring another season to life.
Where is Untamed Season 2 set?
Season 2 relocates the investigation to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Turner investigates a mysterious death while facing local tensions and a volatile, living volcanic landscape that can become an unpredictable force in the case.

The change is more than a new backdrop. The Smiths said they wanted to explore the “pristine landscapes and cultural identity” of a different national park and place Turner outside the comfort of Yosemite, in a new state of mind.
Where was Season 2 filmed?
Netflix says production is taking place in Hawai‘i, specifically on Oʻahu and the island of Hawaiʻi. Those production locations support the season’s Hawai‘i setting, including its Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park storyline.

When does Untamed Season 2 come out?
There is no release date yet. Netflix’s current update says the season is now in production and asks viewers to stay tuned for more information. Any specific 2026 or 2027 premiere date circulating elsewhere is speculation, not an official Netflix announcement.
Netflix also has not announced the Season 2 episode count, trailer, or a full schedule. Those details should be treated as unconfirmed until Netflix publishes them.

Why was Untamed renewed?
