Plan the stream before you go live
- State the viewer promise. Tell people what they will see or help decide. For example: “Ask me anything about beginner gardening” or “Help choose the next recipe.”

- Use the equipment you need, not the equipment you do not. YouTube says expensive gear is not required to start. Add a webcam, microphone, or other equipment when your chosen format calls for it. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips

- Check eligibility and policy. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days; it also specifies a minimum age of 16 to stream.
