Ty Olsson thanked supporters on X on May 16, 2024, one day after DJ Qualls announced on his podcast that they were getting married. Olsson’s message expressed gratitude for the “love and support and kindness” and sent “love and hugs” to those who had reached out.
What Ty Olsson posted
PinkNews reported that Olsson posted: “Thank you everyone for all the love and support and kindness today” followed by a smiley face, then “Sending you all some love and hugs.” The post was dated May 16, 2024.
When Qualls announced the engagement
On the May 15, 2024 episode of his podcast Locked and Probably Loaded, hosted with Kelly Blackheart, Qualls said that his relationship with Olsson had evolved and that they were getting married. Olsson’s post followed the announcement the next day. TV Insider’s May 17 report covered Qualls’s announcement and their connection to Supernatural.
What Qualls said about their relationship
Qualls described a long history together, saying they had known one another for years and that their relationship had changed over roughly a decade. As quoted by TV Insider, he said: “Ty and I became inseparable at the very beginning — just immediately — and over the last 10 years, our relationship evolved to what it is today, and now we’re getting married.”

Qualls also recounted meeting Olsson through a Supernatural convention and later traveling with a group that included him. These details are Qualls’s account from the podcast, as relayed in contemporaneous entertainment coverage, rather than independently verified information about their private history. The actors were both associated with Supernatural: Qualls played Garth Fitzgerald and Olsson played Benny Lafitte.
What the 2024 reports establish
The contemporaneous coverage establishes that Qualls announced they were getting married on May 15, 2024, and that Olsson posted a brief message of thanks the following day. Those reports do not establish whether they later married or what their relationship status is today.
