There was no official best- or worst-dressed list, so the selections below are an editorial assessment of silhouette, colour, embellishment, styling cohesion and memorability—not Logies results.
How the 2024 Logies red-carpet looks were judged
The red carpet was covered by Channel 7 and 7plus, with Sonia Kruger and Dr Chris Brown among the presenters of the live coverage, according to 7NEWS. For this retrospective, “best” means a look that makes its choices feel intentional and memorable across its shape, colour, details and accessories. “Worst” is a subjective call about a look that feels less resolved by those same measures; it is not a label used in an official Logies fashion result.
Best-dressed standouts
Tony Armstrong: sharp black tailoring with movement
ABC described Armstrong’s long-line black blazer with silver chains and tassel detailing along the pocket, while ELLE identified the suit as Reigner. The combination gives a familiar black silhouette a distinct focal point: the chain and tassel details add movement and contrast without relying on a bright colour. It stands out for being formal but not anonymous.
Julia Morris: red from gown to sneakers
ABC noted Morris’s red satin dress and full skirt; ELLE credited the gown to Alin Le’Kal. The Guardian described the red gown and red sneakers as a monochromatic ensemble with a strong footwear choice. The sneakers make the look memorable because they disrupt the expected formal finish while keeping the colour story together.

Kumi Taguchi: vivid green against black
ABC described Taguchi in a black gown with neon-green feathering and a matching bag. The Guardian separately highlighted a bright-green boa and bag, describing the colour as “brat green.” The two descriptions agree on a striking black-and-green effect, though they do not establish that the feathering and boa were the same accessory. The high contrast and vivid styling make this one of the carpet’s most attention-grabbing looks.
Sonia Kruger: beaded detail and cape sleeves
ABC described Kruger’s nude gown with cape sleeves and silver beading. ELLE credited the bridal couture to FatimaK Designs and the jewellery to Jan Logan. The soft colour lets the beading supply definition, while the cape sleeves give the gown a strong outline. The details work together rather than competing for attention.

Lucia Hawley and Missy Higgins: different ways to make embellishment count
ELLE credited Hawley’s white off-shoulder gown to Toni Maticevski and Higgins’s bedazzled gown to Rachel Gilbert. Their looks sit at different points on the embellishment scale: Hawley’s reported silhouette and colour read as restrained, while Higgins’s gown makes sparkle its central feature. Both are memorable when the contrast between shape and surface is clear.
Other looks that shaped the carpet
Clean lines and formal contrast
ABC described Andy Lee in a black suit and orange aviator sunglasses, alongside Rebecca Harding in a pale pink column gown. ELLE credited Harding’s dress to Effie Kats. The sunglasses give Lee’s conventional suit a playful counterpoint; Harding’s long, simple silhouette offers a quieter approach. ABC also described Asher Keddie in a white plunge halterneck top with a black skirt. ELLE presented Keddie and partner Vincent Fantauzzo as an elegant pair but did not name a designer for Keddie’s outfit.

Red, white and other deliberate statements
ELLE credited Deborah Mailman’s red gown to Danielle Armont Couture, Jessica Rowe’s dress to Romance Was Born, and Danika Mason’s white column dress to Andrzej Krzysztof. ABC described Mason’s gown as strapless, with a cape train. These examples show how colour and silhouette can carry a look without requiring the same kind of ornament: a train changes the movement and scale of a clean column, while a vivid red gown makes colour the main statement.
Beyond the headline looks
ABC’s gallery also grouped the carpet’s fashion into black formalwear, vivid colour, flowing silhouettes and clean lines. Among its examples were Amy Shark’s shimmering black long-sleeved dress, Matt Evans’s olive velvet suit and Denise Scott’s navy kaftan with green flowers. Those groupings are useful ways to navigate the range, not an objective ranking of who dressed best.

Worst dressed: a subjective call, not an official result
The available coverage documents individual outfits and designer credits but does not provide a unified worst-dressed ranking or an agreed fashion score. That makes a definitive “worst dressed” list misleading. A defensible editorial critique would need to point to a specific choice—such as an unbalanced silhouette, competing embellishments or accessories that interrupt the outfit’s colour story—and explain why it feels less cohesive. The looks above are assessed by those criteria, but the coverage does not support naming an official worst-dressed attendee.
What the red carpet’s fashion says about the night
The 2024 carpet was not built around one dominant silhouette or palette. Black tailoring and gowns shared space with red satin, pale pink, white columns, olive velvet and high-impact green. The most memorable looks tended to have a clear point of view: Armstrong’s moving silver details, Morris’s coordinated sneakers, Taguchi’s vivid contrast or Kruger’s beaded cape sleeves. Those are editorial readings of the documented outfits, not a consensus award.
