Yes, Tubi is available in the UK. The free, advertising-supported streaming service launched there on 2 July 2024, so “Tubi is coming to the UK” is now outdated wording. UK viewers can watch through the web, mobile apps, smart TVs, streaming devices, games consoles and Virgin Media TV, although the catalogue differs from Tubi’s US service.
What is Tubi UK?
Tubi is a free streaming service from Fox Corporation. Its main offering is advertising-funded video on demand (AVOD): viewers choose films and programmes from a catalogue, then watch them without paying a monthly subscription.
Tubi also offers free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels. These work more like traditional linear channels, with scheduled programming delivered over the internet. In February 2026, Tubi said it had introduced more than 30 FAST channels in the UK, alongside its on-demand library.

When did Tubi launch in the UK?
Tubi officially launched in the UK on 2 July 2024. At launch, the company advertised more than 20,000 films and TV episodes, with plans to make the service available across connected TVs, smartphones and the web. You can read the official UK launch announcement.
That means the question is no longer whether Tubi is coming to Britain. The useful questions are how to access it, what is available and whether its ad-supported model suits your household.
How much does Tubi cost in the UK?
Tubi costs £0 per month. Tubi’s UK landing page says that viewers do not need a subscription or credit card to start watching.

The trade-off is advertising. Commercial breaks fund the service, and Tubi’s help centre currently says that it does not offer an ad-free option. “Free” therefore means free from a monthly subscription fee, not uninterrupted viewing.
A device manufacturer or app store may still request payment verification when you download an app. That does not mean Tubi itself is charging you; Tubi says its service does not require a credit card.
How to watch Tubi in the UK
The safest way to begin is to use the official UK service at tubitv.com/en-gb, or search for “Tubi” in your device’s UK app store.
On a web browser
- Open the Tubi UK website.
- Browse categories or search for a title.
- Choose a film, series or channel and start playback.
On phones and tablets
Tubi lists support for Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, and Amazon Fire tablets. Install the app from the relevant UK app store, then browse or search for something to watch.

On smart TVs and streaming devices
Tubi’s UK support list includes Android TV, Apple TV, LG TVs running webOS, Samsung TVs, Roku, Hisense Vidaa TVs, TiVo and other supported platforms. Compatibility can vary by TV model, operating-system version and app-store region, so a brand name alone does not guarantee that every older television is supported.
On games consoles
The UK device list includes Sony PS4, Sony PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Search the console’s UK store for the Tubi app and install it if available.
With Chromecast
Tubi lists Chromecast support through Android, iOS and the web. Depending on the device and app version, you may be able to cast playback from a phone, tablet or browser to a compatible television.
Through Virgin Media TV
Tubi has also been integrated with Virgin Media TV. Tubi says this expanded its availability to 21 devices and brought the service to millions more UK homes. That is a company-reported distribution claim, not an independently measured count of distinct consumer hardware models.
Virgin Media customers do not need a separate paid Tubi subscription. However, buying a Virgin Media package solely to obtain Tubi would make little sense: the service is already available directly on supported devices.
Do you need a Tubi account?
You can often browse, and some platforms may allow playback without completing registration. The exact behaviour varies between the web player, mobile apps and television devices.
Registering is useful if you want synchronised watchlists and viewing progress across devices. An account is not a paid subscription and does not remove advertising.

Some television apps display an activation code. If yours does, follow the on-screen instructions and enter the code at Tubi’s activation page.
What can you watch on Tubi UK?
The UK catalogue has grown substantially since launch. In February 2026, Tubi said the UK service had reached nearly 75,000 films and TV episodes, approximately three times its launch offering. The figure was reported by Tubi with reference to Ampere Analysis, so it should be treated as a dated catalogue estimate rather than a permanent title count. Rights expire, new deals are added and availability changes.
Tubi has announced UK content involving AMC Networks, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, New Regency and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Its UK site presents a mixture of:
- Films and older television series
- Crime and true-crime programming
- Horror and thrillers
- Comedy
- Reality television
- Children’s programming
- British and international content
- Creator-led programming
- Tubi Originals
- FAST channels with scheduled programming
A large catalogue does not mean that every new cinema release, premium drama or famous franchise is included. If you are looking for one specific film or series, search the UK version of Tubi directly rather than relying on an American list of recommended Tubi titles.
Are Tubi UK and Tubi US the same?
No. Tubi’s UK and US services operate under different territorial rights. A film or series available on Tubi in the United States may be absent from the UK catalogue, while the UK service may carry titles that are not available in America.
Search results, age ratings, subtitles, audio tracks and availability can also vary by territory. Use the UK site and UK app when checking whether something is actually watchable in Britain.
Using a VPN is not a dependable normal solution. It can create playback problems, may conflict with platform terms and does not change the underlying licensing rights.

AVOD versus FAST: what is the difference?

Tubi’s on-demand library remains the more important part of its proposition for viewers who want to select a particular title. Tubi has said that 95% of its viewing globally is video on demand; that is a company-supplied global figure, not a UK-specific measurement.
Is Tubi UK worth using?
Tubi is most attractive as a free supplement to other services, not as a universal replacement for Netflix, a broadcaster’s catch-up platform or every paid streaming service.

Tubi is a good fit if you:
- Want to keep your monthly streaming bill at zero.
- Enjoy older studio films, cult titles and genre discoveries.
- Are happy to watch with commercial breaks.
- Already own a compatible smart TV, console or streaming device.
- Want another legal source of free films and television.
Another service may suit you better if you:
- Need an ad-free viewing experience.
- Primarily want the newest originals or first-run films.
- Expect the full American Tubi catalogue.
- Need access on an unsupported older television.
- Want one service covering major UK broadcaster catch-up content.
Tubi compared with other UK streaming options
Tubi versus ITVX
Tubi is primarily a broad, advertising-funded catalogue service. ITVX is the ITV-backed destination for ITV programmes, UK entertainment, reality television, drama and catch-up viewing. ITVX has both advertising-funded and subscription-supported elements, so its free and paid propositions are different from Tubi’s strictly free positioning.
Tubi versus FAST services
Other FAST services are better suited to viewers who prefer switching between scheduled channels rather than choosing individual on-demand titles. Tubi offers both formats, but its large on-demand catalogue is central to the service.
Tubi versus paid streamers
Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, Sky and similar services remain stronger choices for viewers prioritising current originals, premium exclusives or particular franchises. They are not direct price equivalents: Tubi’s defining advantage is that it does not require a monthly subscription.

The app does not appear in the store
Check that the device’s country and app-store region are set to the UK, then confirm the device model and operating system against Tubi’s current UK-supported-device list. Older versions may not be supported even when the same brand is listed.

Use the code exactly as displayed, open Tubi’s activation page and request a new code from the television app if the original has expired. Updating or restarting the app may also be necessary.

A title is missing
Search the UK catalogue rather than a US page or search-engine result. The title may be licensed only in another territory, may have left the service or may be available under a different listing.
Playback is unreliable
Check the internet connection, update the app, restart the device and try the web player. If playback works on one device but not another, the problem may be platform-specific rather than an account issue.
You are seeing advertisements
That is normal. Advertising is how Tubi funds its free service, and Tubi currently lists no ad-free option. Buying a streaming stick or using Virgin Media TV will not remove the adverts.
Should you buy a streaming device for Tubi?
Usually, no—not if your current smart TV, phone, computer or games console already supports Tubi. Check the app first before buying anything.
A Roku device, Amazon Fire TV product or Google TV-compatible device can be sensible if you have an older television and want a simpler streaming interface. But hardware is an access method, not a Tubi subscription upgrade: it does not remove advertisements or guarantee access to titles unavailable in the UK.
- Already have a compatible TV or console: buy nothing.
- Have an older television: compare a supported streaming device with the cost and features you actually need.
- Already use Virgin Media TV: try the integrated Tubi experience before purchasing additional hardware.
- Mostly watch on a laptop or phone: dedicated hardware may add little value.
The bottom line
Tubi is not merely coming to the UK—it launched on 2 July 2024 and is already an established free streaming option there. Its strengths are a large and expanding catalogue, wide device support, genre variety and a £0 monthly price. Its compromises are advertising, changing territorial availability and a weaker focus on the newest premium exclusives.
For most UK viewers, Tubi makes sense as an additional source of free entertainment. Check the UK catalogue for the titles you want, confirm that your device is supported and try it before spending money on new hardware.
