Yes—but this was a past event. Tubi streamed Fox’s coverage of Super Bowl LIX, the Kansas City Chiefs–Philadelphia Eagles game, free on February 9, 2025. No paid subscription or cable login was required, although viewers needed a free Tubi account and had to watch advertising. Tubi and Fox offered 4K on compatible devices, but the stream was live-only and is no longer available for replay.
What Tubi streamed
Tubi carried Fox’s Super Bowl LIX telecast, marking the first time Fox streamed its Super Bowl broadcast on Tubi, according to Fox Sports. The event took place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, with the Chiefs facing the Eagles.
The special Tubi offering included Fox’s Super Bowl pregame coverage, the game itself, and related event programming. Tubi also presented its own Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX pre-show. That original red-carpet programming was separate from the Fox game feed; Tubi used Fox’s live-event infrastructure for the broadcast.

Was the Super Bowl really free on Tubi?
Yes. Tubi did not charge a subscription fee for the stream, and viewers did not need a pay-TV subscription or Fox Sports provider authentication. However, “free” meant free with advertising—not ad-free viewing.
Viewers had to create or sign in to a free Tubi account. Tubi’s advance instructions asked people to register by February 8, 2025. Reporting based on Tubi’s confirmation also said the livestream carried the same Super Bowl commercials shown in Fox’s television broadcast. See CBS News for that advertising detail.
Was Tubi’s stream actually in 4K?
Tubi and Fox advertised a 4K livestream, but only on compatible equipment. The claim should not be read to mean that every Tubi viewer automatically received a 4K picture.

- A 4K television or display.
- A compatible streaming device or supported television app.
- A 4K-ready HDMI cable when using an external device.
- A sufficiently fast, stable internet connection.
- An up-to-date Tubi app and device operating system.
- Correct display and HDR settings.
Tubi specifically identified Fire TV, Roku, Android TV, and tvOS as platforms supporting 4K for the event. Actual resolution and HDR presentation could still vary with the device, app version, HDMI path, connection quality, and television settings. The available first-party announcements establish that Tubi offered a 4K stream on supported setups; they do not establish identical output for every viewer or that every part of the production originated natively in 4K.

This was the broad device list for watching the event. It was not the same as the narrower list of platforms Tubi identified for 4K playback.

For Super Bowl LIX, Tubi listed these recommended or required app versions:

These were event-specific requirements published in 2025, not necessarily current Tubi requirements in 2026.
Schedule and kickoff time
Tubi’s published schedule used Eastern Time:
- 11:00 a.m.: Fox Super Bowl LIX Pregame.
- 3:30 p.m.: Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX.
- 6:00 p.m.: Super Bowl LIX event listing on Tubi’s help page.
- 6:30 p.m.: Kickoff, according to Fox’s announcement.
The 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. entries were not necessarily contradictory. The earlier Tubi time appears to have represented the program window or event listing, while Fox identified 6:30 p.m. Eastern as the actual kickoff.
Language and caption limitations
The Tubi livestream was available in English only. Tubi directed viewers seeking Spanish-language coverage to Fox Deportes or Telemundo; that broader Fox programming availability should not be confused with Spanish audio on the Tubi stream.

Why the stream is no longer available
Tubi stated that the Super Bowl stream was live-only and would not remain available for replay after the broadcast ended. Tubi’s current Super Bowl page identifies the event as ended.
Therefore, a reader searching for the full 2025 game today should not treat an old “watch live” page as an active replay link. The original free Tubi stream was a one-time live event, not a permanent on-demand library title.

A 4K television did not produce a 4K picture
A 4K television alone was not enough. The attached streaming device, HDMI cable, app, internet connection, or display configuration could limit output. Tubi’s 4K platform list was also narrower than its general device list.
Colors looked washed out or distorted
Tubi recommended checking display settings and, where applicable, changing Dolby Vision to HDR. The suggested recovery process was to restart the device, relaunch Tubi, and try the stream again.

The app would not play the event
Tubi’s troubleshooting guidance was to confirm that the device met its requirements, check for app updates, refresh the app or restart the device, and contact Tubi support if the problem continued. Tubi asked users contacting support to include their device ID.
The viewer expected Spanish audio or a replay
Neither expectation matched the Tubi offer. The stream was English-only and live-only.
How Tubi performed
In a post-event announcement, Tubi reported 15.5 million peak concurrent streaming viewers during the game, a 13.6 million average-minute audience, and 24 million unique viewers across its game-day programming beginning with Fox’s pregame show.
These are Tubi’s own reported figures, not independently audited measurements. Tubi also described the free 4K livestream as being delivered through Fox’s live-streaming operation. Its reported results explain why the event was significant for the service, but they do not change the stream’s account, advertising, device, language, or replay limitations.
What the offer meant for cord-cutters
For the live event in 2025, Tubi was a legitimate alternative to cable or a pay-TV subscription: viewers needed internet access, a supported device, and a free account, but not a paid television package. An antenna receiving Fox locally or another authorized service carrying Fox were additional options.
Buying a new television, streaming box, or HDMI cable would not unlock the completed Super Bowl LIX stream now. Those products would make sense only for broader 4K streaming needs. A viewer who already owned a compatible smart TV or streaming device did not need to purchase extra hardware simply to use Tubi.
The bottom line on Tubi’s 2025 Super Bowl stream
Tubi’s offer was real: Fox’s Super Bowl LIX broadcast was available free on Tubi on February 9, 2025, with no paid subscription required. The trade-offs were a free-account registration, advertising, English-only coverage, device-dependent 4K, and no replay after the live broadcast. As of 2026, it is a completed streaming event rather than a currently watchable Super Bowl library title.
