The roughly 19-second clip was not evidence of a real attack. It appeared on Trump’s Truth Social account on the same day as nationwide No Kings protests, and used imagery that directly mocked the demonstrations’ opposition to concentrated presidential power.
What Trump’s video showed
Trump posted the clip to Truth Social on the evening of Saturday, October 18, 2025. The American Presidency Project’s archive places the relevant post at approximately 9:38 p.m. Eastern time and preserves links to the original Truth Social material.
In the video, a digitally rendered Trump wears a gold crown and pilots a fighter aircraft marked “King Trump.” The aircraft flies over a city scene before releasing bursts of brown material onto demonstrators. The closing sequence appears to show protesters in New York’s Times Square being covered by the substance.
Contemporaneous reporting by The Guardian and Axios described the video as approximately 19 seconds long and as fake, AI-generated, or apparently AI-generated. The footage should therefore be understood as a political meme—not as a recording of Trump flying a jet or attacking people in the street.

The precise nature of the material cannot be verified from the video. News reports variously called it brown sludge, fecal matter, excrement, or material that appeared to be feces. “Explosive diarrhea” is a description used in commentary and social-media reaction, not an established identification of what appears in the clip.
Why the clip was linked to the No Kings protests
The post appeared on the day of a large nationwide round of No Kings demonstrations. Organizers presented the events as nonviolent protests against what they viewed as authoritarian conduct and excessive presidential power. Axios reported that demonstrations took place in all 50 states and that organizers described more than 2,700 events as lawful and peaceful.
The coalition later claimed that more than seven million people attended nationwide. That number is an estimate from the organizers, not an independently audited attendance total. The coalition said the events were coordinated with local grassroots partners, grounded in nonviolence, and led by trained volunteers and community leaders.
The video’s title-like label, “King Trump,” was a direct visual response to the protest slogan. The crown reinforced the same message: Trump was being portrayed as a monarch mocking people who were protesting the idea of unchecked executive power.

The imagery also created a pointed contrast with Trump’s contemporaneous public comments. As reported by Axios, he dismissed the demonstrations as “a joke” and said, “I’m not a king.” The video, however, showed him wearing a crown and operating an aircraft literally labeled “King Trump.”
Was this a real attack?
No. Nothing in the reporting indicates that the clip documented a genuine attack, presidential flight, or military operation. Its synthetic appearance, exaggerated composition, and meme-like presentation led multiple outlets to characterize it as AI-generated or apparently AI-generated.
Trump shared the video; the available reporting does not establish that he personally created it. Axios noted that the clip carried a watermark attributing it to the account “@XERIAS_X,” suggesting that it may have originated elsewhere before being reposted by Trump.
That distinction matters when discussing synthetic political media. A post can be real—meaning that a public figure genuinely shared it—while the event depicted inside the post is fabricated. In this case, the documented event is Trump’s Truth Social post, not an actual incident involving protesters being sprayed from an aircraft.

The “Danger Zone” soundtrack dispute
The video used a snippet of Kenny Loggins’s song “Danger Zone,” best known for its appearance in the 1986 film Top Gun. Loggins said he had not been asked for permission and would have refused permission. He requested that his recording be removed and objected to having his music associated with material designed, in his view, to divide Americans.
The dispute establishes the artist’s objection, but not the final legal outcome. The available Associated Press reporting said the video was still on Truth Social on the Tuesday morning after Trump posted it. That report did not establish whether the clip was later removed, whether the recording was taken out, or how the rights issue was ultimately resolved.
What the video says about political AI imagery
The “King Trump” clip fits a broader pattern of Trump using AI-generated or heavily manipulated images to portray himself as powerful or heroic and to ridicule political opponents. PolitiFact reported that his Truth Social account had increasingly used AI imagery in this way. The Guardian also placed the video among other deepfake-style posts.
These images work as political communication even when viewers understand that they are not literal news footage. The crown, the aircraft, the label “King Trump,” the recognizable protest setting, and the humiliating brown substance compress a political argument into a short visual joke. The clip was designed to turn a real protest movement into an object of ridicule while presenting Trump as dominant and untouchable.

It also illustrates why verification requires more than asking whether an image “looks real.” Readers should separate at least three questions:
- Did the public figure share the post? In this case, the Truth Social post is documented by the American Presidency Project’s archive.
- Did the depicted event happen? No evidence supports that interpretation; the video was reported as synthetic or apparently synthetic.
- Who made the video? The watermark and reporting suggest that Trump may have reshared material created or circulated by another account, but the available evidence does not establish the original creator with certainty.
How to describe the protests accurately
It is reasonable to describe the nationwide demonstrations as broadly organized as nonviolent and peaceful because that is how organizers characterized them and how Axios reported them. It would be too broad to imply that every individual participant, location, or incident was independently verified as peaceful.
The same care applies to the video’s substance. “Brown substance,” “brown sludge,” “fecal-looking material,” and “material resembling excrement” accurately convey what the clip depicts without claiming a scientific identification. The more specific phrase “explosive diarrhea” goes beyond what the available evidence establishes.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The significance of the post
The important fact is not that Trump literally attacked protesters—he did not. It is that the president shared synthetic imagery depicting such an attack as a way to mock a large protest movement. The post blurred the boundary between presidential communication, internet meme culture, and manipulated media.

For audiences encountering similar political videos, the safest approach is to verify the original post, check whether reputable reporting identifies the footage as manipulated, look for watermarks or reposting clues, and avoid treating a dramatic clip as evidence of the event it depicts. Here, the documented subject is a real Truth Social post containing fabricated imagery aimed at the No Kings demonstrations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did Donald Trump actually spray protesters with feces from a fighter jet?
No. The video was reported as fake, AI-generated, or apparently AI-generated. It depicted a fictional scene; there is no evidence that Trump attacked protesters or flew a fighter jet over them.
When did Trump share the “King Trump” video?
He shared it on Truth Social on October 18, 2025, the day of the nationwide No Kings demonstrations. The American Presidency Project’s archive places the relevant post at approximately 9:38 p.m. Eastern time.
Was the material in the video confirmed to be diarrhea?
No. Reports described brown sludge, fecal matter, excrement, or material that appeared to be feces. The video does not establish a scientific identification, so “explosive diarrhea” should be treated as commentary rather than verified fact.

The Bottom Line
Trump’s October 18, 2025, post was a documented Truth Social share of an apparently AI-generated political meme—not a real attack on protesters. Its “King Trump” imagery and feces-like spray mocked the nationwide No Kings demonstrations, while its use of Kenny Loggins’s “Danger Zone” prompted a public objection from the singer.
