Corey Lewandowski said immigration enforcement would happen “everywhere,” including at a concert by Bad Bunny—but he did not describe a specific ICE deployment at the Super Bowl. Before the game, the NFL’s security chief said ICE was not among the federal agencies expected and that no ICE enforcement activities were planned. The available reporting does not establish whether ICE agents were physically present or whether any unplanned enforcement occurred.
What did Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski say?
On October 1, 2025, Corey Lewandowski, whom Axios described as a senior adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, responded to Benny Johnson’s question about whether ICE would conduct enforcement at the Super Bowl. Bad Bunny had recently been announced as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LX.
Lewandowski said: “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.” He added: “If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. … We’re going to do enforcement everywhere.” Axios reported the remarks on October 1, 2025.
Those comments were broad enforcement rhetoric, not a detailed announcement of a particular operation, location, timing, or deployment of agents. The conditional wording matters: Lewandowski spoke about what would happen if people he described as “illegal aliens” were present; his remarks alone do not prove that ICE planned a specific operation at the game.

What did the NFL say before the game?
Super Bowl LX was scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Before the game, NFL chief security officer Cathy Lanier said the federal security presence would be consistent with past Super Bowls and ICE would not be among the federal agencies present. She said, “There are no planned ICE enforcement activities. We are confident of that.”
The Associated Press also reported that a DHS official told local officials and the NFL that ICE did not plan law enforcement actions during Super Bowl week or at the game. However, DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin declined to say whether immigration agents would be present. The AP’s pregame account describes those statements and the remaining uncertainty.

Did ICE agents attend Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show?
The cited reporting does not settle whether ICE personnel were physically present at the event or whether any unplanned enforcement occurred. The NFL’s statement addressed ICE and planned enforcement; it was not a complete record of every agent’s physical presence or every possible action on game day. The AP account reports pregame plans and DHS’s refusal to clarify agent presence, not a full post-event operational record.
So the careful answer is that Lewandowski said enforcement would apply broadly, while NFL security officials said before the game that ICE was not expected among the federal agencies present and that no ICE enforcement activities were planned. Neither statement, on its own, verifies what happened on the day.

What was Super Bowl LX and who was performing?
The NFL announced Bad Bunny as the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime performer. The league’s announcement identified Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, as the venue and February 8, 2026, as the scheduled game date. The NFL announcement gives the performer, venue, and scheduled date.
The debate about possible ICE activity drew public attention before the game. The Associated Press reported that more than 184,000 petition signers urged the NFL to denounce the potential presence of ICE at the Super Bowl; that figure describes signers reported by AP, not a measure of public opinion as a whole. The AP report covers the petition and pregame security discussion.
