Trolls Band Together is the third film in DreamWorks’ Trolls series, following the 2016 original and 2020’s Trolls World Tour. It sends Poppy and Branch on a musical rescue mission after Poppy discovers that Branch once performed in a boy band with his four brothers—and that one of them, Floyd, has been kidnapped. The story also reveals a long-lost connection in Poppy’s family.
What is Trolls Band Together about?
Poppy and Branch are an established couple when Poppy learns that Branch has a past she never knew about: he was part of BroZone, a boy band made up of him and his brothers Floyd, John Dory, Spruce and Clay. The brothers drifted apart when Branch was a baby.
The family is pulled back together when pop-star villains Velvet and Veneer kidnap Floyd for his musical talent. Poppy and Branch set out to reunite the brothers and rescue him. During the adventure, Poppy also discovers that Viva is her long-lost sister. The premise combines a musical rescue story with two family-reconnection arcs.
DreamWorks describes the movie as animated and family-oriented. Universal’s home-entertainment materials list a PG rating for some mild rude and suggestive humor; that rating detail is associated with the specified 4K UHD edition.
