Travis Kelce joined Taylor Swift onstage at Wembley Stadium on June 23, 2024, in a planned Eras Tour segment before “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” He later explained how a joke about riding a bicycle became a tuxedoed role carrying Swift to a couch—and, in a September interview, called her “Tay Tay.”
What Travis Kelce did during Swift’s Wembley show
Kelce appeared during the transition into “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” in the The Tortured Poets Department portion of Swift’s June 23, 2024, concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Wearing a tuxedo and top hat, he joined the dancers, carried Swift across the stage to a couch, and helped set up the next song. The role was planned between the performers; the surprise was for the audience. CBS Sports and the Los Angeles Times reported on the cameo and Kelce’s account afterward.
How the stage role came about
In an early July 2024 discussion on the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce said his first idea was to ride a bicycle onto the stage during the show’s 1989 segment. The final plan placed him in a different part of the performance. He said he had seen the show enough times that he might as well be put to work: “I’ve seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here,” as quoted by CBS Sports.
Why Kelce said he was focused on carrying Swift safely
Kelce described one clear priority as he carried Swift across the stage: “Do not drop Taylor.” The Los Angeles Times quoted his fuller explanation: “The one thing I told myself is, ‘Do not drop the baby. Do not drop Taylor on your way over this damn couch.’ The golden rule was do not drop Taylor, get her to the couch safely.”

When Kelce called Taylor Swift “Tay Tay”
On September 3, 2024, while revisiting the cameo on The Rich Eisen Show, Kelce said he was “always down to have some fun on stage with Tay Tay.” Marie Claire reported the remark the following day. It establishes that he used the nickname on air in that interview; it does not, by itself, establish how often he uses it privately.
