Paramount+’s season guide identifies Justin Hartley as returning series star Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene as returning series star Reenie Greene. Hartley’s Colter is the traveling tracker who searches for missing people and collects rewards. Rene’s Reenie continues her legal practice and begins working with a new assistant.

Who is new in season 3?

Cassady McClincy as Mel Day

Cassady McClincy joins as recurring character Mel Day, Reenie’s law assistant. The season setup describes Mel as taking an interest in Colter while Reenie recovers from trauma carried over from the previous season.

Who is not returning as a series regular?

Eric Graise as Bobby Exley

TVLine reported that Eric Graise departed before season 3 after playing Bobby Exley. The report establishes that he was no longer a series regular heading into the season; it does not establish that he could never appear as a guest in the future.

Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin

TVLine also reported Abby McEnany’s departure before season 3. McEnany played Velma Bruin. As with Graise, “not returning as a series regular” should not be read as proof that a later guest appearance is impossible.

Robin Weigert’s earlier exit

Robin Weigert, who played Teddi Bruin, was written out after season 1. That is an earlier cast change, not a new season 3 departure.

Season 3 status Performer Character What is established
Departed before season 3 Eric Graise Bobby Exley Reported by TVLine; no longer a series regular heading into season 3

How the cast changes fit the season 3 story

Season 3 opens with Colter and Russell reconnecting as Colter continues investigating what their mother concealed about their father’s death. Reenie is dealing with the aftermath of the previous season while Mel joins her legal office. Those story threads explain why Russell and Mel are specifically prominent in the season’s cast setup.
