They share five children. Liam is the eldest and Beau is the youngest. Dean McDermott’s son Jack, from his earlier marriage to Mary Jo Eustace, is their children’s half-brother.

Where Jack fits in the family
Jack McDermott is Dean’s son with Mary Jo Eustace, from an earlier marriage. He is a paternal half-brother to Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn and Beau—not another child shared by Spelling and McDermott.

What’s publicly known about the parents’ separation and coparenting
The Associated Press reported on March 29, 2024, that Spelling filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. Her filing listed June 17, 2023, as the separation date. AP also described custody terms she requested in that filing; those requests should not be mistaken for a final custody order.
Us Weekly reported in December 2025 that the divorce had been finalized. In a November 11, 2025 interview with the magazine, McDermott described their relationship as coparents by saying, “We’re great coparents.” He also said they planned to continue family Christmas traditions and that he had spoken openly with the children about his addiction. These are McDermott’s interview remarks about his family, not independent confirmation of private arrangements.

In a December 10, 2025 Us Weekly interview, Spelling described “a couple years of transition for my family” and said she was proud of her children’s “kindness” and “empathy.” Her comments reflect her perspective as their mother.

Birth months and years make the family’s age order clear, but they do not establish exact ages on a particular day without exact birthdays. As of October 7, 2026, Liam is 19, Stella is 18 and Beau is 9. Hattie is 14 or 15, and Finn is 13 or 14, depending on whether each has had a birthday this year. School and career details above are also tied to the dates of the interviews and reports, rather than presented as live status updates.
