Did Sydney Sweeney’s parents support her acting ambitions?
Sydney has said her parents did not initially understand how seriously she wanted to act. As a child, she prepared a five-year business plan to explain her ambition. In an interview recounted by The Irish Times, she recalled that her parents thought acting was “like wanting to be a princess.” When they saw her plan, she remembered their reaction as: “Oh shit, she’s very serious about this.”
Her parents then let her audition for a zombie movie filming near their hometown. The account shows a shift from not understanding the ambition to allowing her to pursue an early opportunity; it does not establish every detail of how they felt about her career later.
How did acting affect the family?
When Sydney was 13, her family moved to Southern California so she could pursue acting, according to Biography.com.
