According to a November 13, 2024, PerthNow report, TooTurntTony’s friend Captain Mikey was bitten on the lower leg by an alligator while working on a boat motor near the water. The report says Tony and another person pulled him clear, wrapped the wound and drove him for urgent medical care. The account is based on creator-posted footage and Tony’s later update; no official incident report or independent medical confirmation was located.
What happened in the reported alligator attack?
PerthNow reported that a video posted by TooTurntTony to TikTok and Instagram showed his friend, identified as Captain Mikey, working on a boat motor when an alligator approached and bit his lower leg. The report says Tony and another person tried to pull Mikey away, freed him, wrapped the wound and took him for urgent medical care. These details are attributed to the report and the creator’s posts, rather than an independently verified incident account. PerthNow’s November 13, 2024 report summarizes the footage and updates.
What was later said about the injury?
PerthNow says Tony initially described the wound as involving a severed popliteal artery, then later clarified that medical staff considered the injury less severe and that Mikey would not need an amputation. The initial artery description should not be treated as a confirmed diagnosis: the report does not include a hospital record or an independent statement from Mikey.
What is confirmed—and what remains unverified?
The available account is a news report summarizing footage and updates posted by the creator. An official incident report and an independently accessible copy of the original social-media post were not located. Viewers reportedly questioned whether the video was staged, but those reactions do not establish that it was, or was not. The evidence available here does not settle the clip’s authenticity independently.

What does Florida wildlife guidance say about alligators?
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) advises people to keep their distance, never feed alligators, keep pets away from the water’s edge and swim only in designated areas during daylight hours, without pets. FWC says alligators are most active from dusk to dawn. It explains that feeding can make alligators lose their natural wariness and associate people with food. FWC’s alligator safety guidance provides the agency’s recommendations.
- “Keep a safe distance if you see an alligator.”
- “Never feed an alligator. It’s illegal and dangerous.”
- “Swim only in designated swimming areas during daylight hours.”
FWC’s March 20, 2024 safety release estimated Florida’s alligator population at 1.3 million and said alligators are found in all 67 counties. Those are figures from the 2024 release, not a newly verified 2026 estimate. The agency also says serious alligator injuries are rare in Florida, without quantifying a rate in that release. How should someone report a concerning alligator?
People concerned about an alligator can call the FWC Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286). The agency says the hotline dispatches contracted nuisance-alligator trappers to address threats. Its program addresses threats in developed areas while conserving alligators where they naturally occur. FWC’s Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program information.
The rescue described in Tony’s video is a news account, not a general safety procedure. FWC’s guidance is to keep away from alligators and contact the agency about a concern; it does not support treating physical intervention or entering the water as a recommended response.
