TOOL’s announced “one-off” New Zealand show became two Auckland performances: the band played Spark Arena on Saturday 22 November and Sunday 23 November 2025. Both dates have passed. As of 8 October 2026, Ticketmaster NZ lists no upcoming TOOL concerts.
When and where did TOOL play in New Zealand?
Frontier Touring first announced an exclusive headline show at Spark Arena in Auckland for Saturday 22 November 2025. The promoter described it as TOOL’s first New Zealand performance in five years and said the band’s last New Zealand performance had been at the same venue in 2020. Frontier Touring’s 16 September 2025 announcement also noted that the band had visited New Zealand since 1997.
Two days later, Frontier Touring added a second Spark Arena date, Sunday 23 November, saying the first show’s presale tickets were exhausted. The original “one-off” description therefore applied to the initial announcement, not the final number of Auckland shows. The 18 September announcement scheduled general public tickets for both dates to go on sale on 22 September 2025 at 12pm NZST; those sales are historical.
How the two Auckland dates came about
| Date | What was announced |
|---|---|
| Saturday 22 November 2025 | Original Spark Arena headline show, announced 16 September 2025. |
| Sunday 23 November 2025 | Second Spark Arena show, announced 18 September after Frontier Touring said presale tickets for the first date were exhausted. |
The announcements establish the dates and sales sequence, but do not report attendance, ticket revenue, or whether either night sold out in full. They also do not establish differences in set lists, production, or the audience experience between the two performances.

Can you still get tickets?
No current ticket availability for these past shows is established. As checked on 8 October 2026, Ticketmaster NZ’s TOOL page lists no upcoming concerts. Ticketmaster says tickets bought through it are digital and accessible through its app or mobile web browser, but that information should not be read as evidence that tickets to the November 2025 shows remain available.
What did the announcement say about TOOL?
Frontier Touring identified the lineup as Danny Carey on drums, Justin Chancellor on bass, Adam Jones on guitar, and Maynard James Keenan on vocals. The promoter also said Fear Inoculum debuted at No. 1 in New Zealand, making it TOOL’s third consecutive No. 1 album in the country.

For announcement-era context, Frontier Touring listed five studio albums through Fear Inoculum (2019): Undertow (1993), Ænima (1996), Lateralus (2001), 10,000 Days (2006), and Fear Inoculum (2019). This is the promoter’s context for the 2025 announcement, not a current audit of the band’s complete discography.
