The “hilarious Winter Soldier detail” is Bucky Barnes putting his metal arm in a dishwasher. In the reported trailer gag, chili-dog sauce gets on his shirt and prosthetic, turning an extraordinary piece of superhero hardware into one more thing to clean up after dinner.
What happens in the dishwasher gag?
The Independent reports that Bucky is eating a chili dog in his kitchen when sauce gets on his white shirt and metal arm. He then puts the arm in the dishwasher. That is the reported sequence, rather than a transcript of the scene.
The laugh comes from the contrast: Bucky is a super-soldier with a powerful prosthetic, but the immediate problem is a messy meal and ordinary kitchen cleanup. The trailer treats the arm, for this moment, like a dirty item that can go in with the dishes.
Why might the arm seem familiar?
BGR connects the image with Rocket’s earlier gag about wanting Bucky’s arm. Viewers who remember that exchange may recognize a callback in seeing the arm handled so casually. The connection is a joke for audiences, not evidence of a continuity error or a confirmed plot point.
