His best-known role was Carlo Hesser
On ABC’s One Life to Live, Christopher played Carlo Hesser, a mob boss, and Carlo’s twin, Mortimer Bern. TVLine reported that Christopher won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 1992 for his work on the soap.
A career across soaps, science fiction and film
Christopher’s television work included recurring roles in Love of Life, The Edge of Night, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Loving, Guiding Light and One Life to Live, according to the Television Academy. TV Insider notes that he played Hawk, the half-man, half-bird warrior, in the second season of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and lists ADDicted (2017) as his final acting credit.

His film credits included Voices, Firepower, Hellinger’s Law, Space Raiders, Ten Hundred Kings and They’re Just My Friends. The New Pine Plains Herald also reported that Christopher performed on Broadway in the 1970s, attended Ithaca College and studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse.

Former One Life to Live co-star Anthony Crivello confirmed Christopher’s death in a social-media post, as reported by TVLine. The outlet reproduced Crivello’s tribute: “He was always a gentleman, always supportive, and he and his wife Judith who proceeded him in death, where [sic] always gracious to me and welcoming.”
