What happens in “Costa da Morte”?
Released September 7, 2025, “Costa da Morte” is the first episode of season 3. Daryl and Carol are still trying to get home when their journey takes them through a London overrun by walkers. There they meet Julian, an English survivor living alone.

Julian offers a possible way forward by boat. Daryl, Carol and Julian set out together, but a storm wrecks the journey. Daryl and Carol reach Spain’s coast; by the end of the episode, Carol is missing and Daryl must search for her. The premiere ends on that separation rather than resolving what happened to Carol.

What does the ending mean for Carol and Daryl?
The immediate consequence of the shipwreck is that Daryl and Carol are separated on Spain’s coast. Carol’s whereabouts are left unanswered, and Daryl’s next urgent task is to find her. The ending sets up the search; it does not establish that Carol is dead or explain how the two will reunite.
Who is Julian?
Julian is a solitary English survivor Daryl and Carol encounter in London. His offer of a boat gives them a possible route onward, but the storm wrecks their attempt. The premiere’s recap establishes his role in the journey, not a fuller backstory.
