The Talk has ended: CBS aired the daytime show’s series finale on December 20, 2024, closing a 15-season run. CBS announced the final season in April 2024 and described it as a celebratory sendoff, but did not give a specific reason for ending the program.
When did The Talk end?
CBS announced on April 12, 2024, that The Talk would return for a shortened 15th and final season, then conclude in December. The network’s November 26 finale-week announcement scheduled the last live shows for December 16–20. The series finale, a retrospective, aired on December 20, 2024. CBS’s finale-week announcement and CBS’s episode listing document the closing dates.
Why was The Talk ending?
CBS did not publicly identify a specific cause in its April 2024 announcement. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, said the network planned to “celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff it deserves.” That explains how CBS framed the final season, not why it made the decision. The announcement does not cite ratings, cost, or a programming strategy as the reason, so those explanations should not be treated as established facts. CBS News Los Angeles reported the announcement and statement.
Who hosted the final season?
The season 15 panel featured Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood. The network’s joint statement also thanked executive producer and showrunner Rob Crabbe, the producing team, and the crew. CBS Entertainment’s program profile lists the final-season hosts.
