Is Season 2 the final season?
Yes. Netflix’s official guide identifies Season 2 as The Sandman’s second and final season. Showrunner, executive producer and writer Allan Heinberg explained the decision to Netflix: “The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream’s story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season.” The statement appears in Netflix Tudum’s official Season 2 coverage.

Which Sandman comic stories does Season 2 adapt?
Netflix’s guide says the season draws on major comic arcs including Season of Mists, Brief Lives, and The Kindly Ones, as well as material from The Sandman: Overture. It also identifies individual stories such as “Tales in the Sand,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “The Song of Orpheus,” “Thermidor,” and “The Tempest.” Readers who want the source material can use the original Sandman graphic novels and collected comics as a companion, although no particular edition is required to follow the television schedule.
