Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers, is consolidating his power from Barad-dûr. His immediate objective is to forge the One Ring, which he believes will allow him to bind the peoples of Middle-earth to his will and rule them. That goal is the central story engine revealed so far.

Galadriel and Celeborn
The return of Celeborn is one of the clearest character developments in the season 3 material. Jamie Campbell Bower will play Galadriel’s long-lost husband, and the teaser shows the pair reunited.
The available announcement does not explain where Celeborn has been, how the reunion affects Galadriel’s relationship with Elrond or the other Elves, or how much of the season focuses on their marriage.
