Oz’s shipment heist deepens Sofia’s suspicion
After Alberto’s murder, Sofia’s grief gives way to suspicion. She attends therapy, suffers a panic attack, and leaves determined to seek revenge. Oz, meanwhile, returns to Salvatore Maroni and persuades him to continue their arrangement by targeting a Falcone shipment.
Johnny Viti insists that Oz ride in the armored truck. Maroni’s crew attacks it, and Oz survives, denying that he betrayed the Falcones. Sofia sees the robbery as evidence that someone inside her family helped the Maronis. The arrival of Carmine Falcone’s brother Luca, who takes charge and tells Sofia to stay out of family business, makes clear that the theft is colliding with a larger struggle over authority.

At Alberto’s funeral, Sofia turns the hunt inward
The funeral reception brings both sides of the heist’s consequences into the Falcone home. Sofia pays retired detective Marcus Wise to investigate the stolen shipment; his lead points to Ervad, one of the Maroni crew. Nadia Maroni separately gives Oz a job: find Ervad before he can talk.
Oz’s plan to plant jewels in Viti’s car goes wrong when Victor is spotted. Oz finds Ervad in the basement, but Victor warns him that the operation has been exposed. Oz kills Ervad with a switchblade, converting a dangerous witness into another problem to conceal.

Oz frames Castillo, but Luca makes the decisive move
Sofia and Luca discover Ervad’s body and lock down the house. Oz plants the knife on Sofia’s enforcer Castillo. Sofia moves to shoot Castillo, but Luca kills him first. He decides Sofia is consumed by revenge and says she will be sent to Italy.
The apparent solution does not settle the question of who is behind the robbery. It instead removes Castillo, puts Sofia’s position under Luca’s control, and leaves Oz responsible for hiding the bodies: he makes Victor dig a grave for Ervad and Castillo.

Sofia’s offer turns exile into an opening
At the Falcone crypt, Sofia tells Oz that jewels were found in Castillo’s apartment. Then she asks Oz to work with her to take down the family hierarchy so she can take control. The invitation reframes the episode’s shifting loyalties: Oz has been trying to remain useful to the Falcones while exploiting his connection to the Maronis, and Sofia offers him a different route to power.
HBO describes the series as following Oswald “Oz” Cobb’s “quest for power and control in Gotham City.” In that light, Sofia’s proposal is a sharp new possibility, not proof of a stable partnership: both characters have shown that survival and leverage matter more than loyalty.
