Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore were the first two actors reported for the developing Office-universe project in April 2024. That project became The Paper, an official The Office spinoff—not a series whose final title is “The Office reboot.” NBCUniversal’s 2026 season announcement still lists both actors in its ensemble.
Who were the first two actors announced?
A report published by BGR on April 19, 2024, relaying Deadline’s casting news, named Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore as the first actors cast in a new project set in The Office universe. Their roles had not been disclosed. Universal Television confirmed only that the project was in development at that point. BGR’s April 2024 report records what was known then.

What became of the reported “reboot”?
The project was later announced as The Paper, a Peacock series created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. NBCUniversal describes it as a spinoff: the documentary crew associated with Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch finds a new subject at a historic Midwestern newspaper and its publisher. The early “reboot” framing was not the final series title or official format. NBCUniversal’s announcement of The Paper provides the title, premise, creators, and ensemble cast.
Are Gleeson and Impacciatore still part of the show?
Yes. Both are included in the announced ensemble for The Paper. NBCUniversal’s 2026 Season 2 announcement continues to list Gleeson and Impacciatore and credits Daniels and Koman as co-creators and executive producers. NBCUniversal’s 2026 announcement is the latest confirmation reflected here.
