The clip was posted on December 9, 2019. That record is not a live count, and TikTok does not offer a readily accessible public leaderboard that establishes a definitive current top 10.
That distinction matters: views are not likes, and a historical list is not a current ranking. The figures and rankings below are labeled according to what can be verified.

Guinness describes Zach King’s post as “Zach Kings Magic Broomstick” and lists it at approximately 2.2 billion views. It shows King apparently riding a broomstick before the illusion is revealed. The number is a record figure associated with Guinness’ March 15, 2022 verification—not a claim about the post’s live counter today. Guinness World Records’ record page also cautions that records change daily and are not immediately published online.
The clip’s visual premise is easy to understand without dialogue: the viewer sees an impossible image, then recognizes the trick. That makes it readily legible across languages and inviting to replay. These are plausible features of its appeal, not proof that any single editing choice caused its record-breaking reach.

Why there is no trustworthy current top 10
Publicly available evidence supports the Guinness record above, but it does not establish exact current positions for a full all-time ranking. TikTok does not provide a readily accessible public leaderboard of individual videos across all accounts. Counts change, posts can become private or disappear, and a widely shared clip may have several versions on different accounts.
Published lists also vary in age and method. Some repeat old counts; others may mix an original post with a repost, or confuse a single video’s counter with total profile, hashtag, sound, or campaign views. A search-result snippet is not a dependable substitute for checking the post itself.

For that reason, James Charles’ Christmas-themed “Sisters” video, Bella Poarch’s “M to the B,” and other Zach King illusion videos are best described here as historically reported high-view candidates—not as verified current runners-up. An academic study includes historical play-count data for major TikTok videos, but a past dataset cannot establish today’s order. The study is useful historical context, not a live leaderboard.
Most viewed is not the same as most liked
Bella Poarch’s “M to the B” lip-sync is a prominent example of a different record category. Guinness World Records lists it as the most-liked TikTok video, with 54.9 million likes as of January 25, 2022. The video uses “Soph Aspin Send (M to the B)” by Millie B. That dated like count should not be presented as a current figure or as a view total. Guinness’ most-liked-video record covers likes, not views.

- Views: Plays recorded for a post; they do not necessarily represent unique people.
- Likes: A separate reaction metric. A viewer can watch without liking, or watch more than once.
- Comments and shares: Separate forms of engagement, not additional views of the same post.
- Unique viewers: A measure of distinct viewers where reported; it is not interchangeable with total plays.
- Account, hashtag, sound, and campaign totals: Aggregate figures that cannot be ranked as though each were one video.
TikTok’s reporting on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for example, distinguishes aggregate content views, official-account views, and unique views of broadcaster livestreams. Those categories illustrate why large event totals should not be compared directly with a single post’s counter. TikTok’s World Cup report identifies the different measures it uses.
How to verify a video’s view count
A sound all-time list compares the same kind of thing: one public TikTok post against other individual posts, using counters checked in the same period. To verify a candidate:

- Open the original creator’s profile and locate the original post, rather than a repost or compilation.
- Confirm the post using its creator, caption, thumbnail, sound, and posting date.
- Record the displayed view count and the date you checked it. Use “approximately” when the public counter is rounded.
- Save the post URL and a dated screenshot, and note whether the post was publicly accessible in the market where you checked.
- Exclude private, deleted, or inaccessible posts from a live ranking; if they matter historically, label them as historical rather than implying their current count can be inspected.
- Compare all entries using the same rules, then sort by views. Do not use followers, likes, or a search snippet as a proxy.
Regional availability, account access, and app versions can affect what a viewer can inspect. A ranking should say where and when its counts were checked, preserve that date with each figure, and distinguish platform counters from numbers attributed to older reporting.

No formula guarantees a record. Still, widely viewed short videos often offer elements that are easy to grasp quickly: an immediate visual hook, a simple premise, a reveal or transformation, familiar music or a recognizable meme, and a payoff that encourages replay or sharing. A creator’s existing audience and the wider circulation of a clip can also contribute. These are useful ways to analyze a video’s design, not a measurable explanation of why one post outranks another.

For marketers looking at performance, TikTok’s Top Content charts offer branded-content charts by views, engagement, and six-second views, with filters including country, industry, and time period. They can help examine commercial creative, but they are not an all-time leaderboard for organic videos. TikTok’s Creative Center and TikTok One also provide commercial and creator-oriented features; access and availability can vary by market and account.
