The Mentalist arrived on Netflix on March 1, 2026, but not worldwide. The reported rollout included the U.K., Canada, Australia, and selected Latin American markets such as Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. The series was not reported as part of the U.S. Netflix launch, so American viewers should not assume that all seven seasons are available on Netflix in the United States.
When did The Mentalist come to Netflix?
The complete series was reported to arrive on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The package includes all seven seasons and 151 episodes of the CBS crime procedural, which originally ran from 2008 through 2015. Netflix coverage of the announcement described the release as a selected-region rollout rather than a global addition.
The reported launch markets included:
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- Australia
- Brazil
- Argentina
- Mexico
- Other selected Latin American territories
Those markets should not be treated as a complete or permanent list. Netflix libraries are determined by territory-specific licensing agreements, and a title can appear in one country while remaining unavailable in another.
Is The Mentalist on Netflix in the United States?
The March 2026 announcement did not identify the United States as one of the launch markets. Therefore, the headline should not be read as confirmation that The Mentalist came to Netflix U.S.

A Netflix title page has been indexed for the St. Lucia service and displays the series, Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, and creator Bruno Heller. That page confirms that Netflix has or had a regional listing, but it does not prove that the show is available in the American Netflix catalog. The catalogs at Netflix.com and other country-specific Netflix domains can differ substantially.
For U.S. viewers, the availability check dated July 28, 2026 listed The Mentalist on Hulu and listed digital purchase options through Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store, and Fandango At Home. Streaming rights and prices can change, so check the current listing before subscribing or buying.
What is The Mentalist about?
Created by Bruno Heller, The Mentalist stars Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, a former celebrity psychic who helps law enforcement solve crimes. Jane’s “psychic” abilities are presented primarily as extraordinary observation, psychological insight, deception, and skill at reading people rather than supernatural powers.
The show combines a weekly case-of-the-week structure with a long-running revenge story. Jane is pursuing Red John, the serial killer responsible for murdering Jane’s wife and daughter. That serialized investigation gives the procedural its central momentum while Jane works alongside the California Bureau of Investigation and, later, other law-enforcement teams.

The main cast also includes Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon and Tim Kang as Kimball Cho. The series’ appeal comes from the contrast between Jane’s playful, manipulative methods and the more conventional investigative work of his colleagues.
How many seasons and episodes are included?
The Netflix package reported for the selected markets contains the complete seven-season run: 151 episodes. The series originally premiered on CBS in 2008 and concluded in 2015.
CBS confirmed that the seventh season would be the final season. Its conclusion resolved the major personal and professional arc surrounding Patrick Jane, including his relationship with Teresa Lisbon. CBS News’ report on the final season described the seventh season as the show’s last.
Why Netflix availability may differ by country
Netflix does not operate one universal catalog. Studios and distributors license programs separately by territory, often for limited periods. That explains why The Mentalist could be announced for Canada or the U.K. without being added to Netflix in the United States.

Availability can also change soon after a launch. A report from the French Netflix news site Netflix News said the series disappeared from the French catalog on March 28, 2026. Later fan reports suggested that the removal might have been a catalog error or that the title could be restored, so the episode is also a reminder not to describe the March addition as a permanent guarantee in every territory.
Before publication or viewing, the safest checks are:
- Open Netflix while signed into the account and country where you intend to watch.
- Search for The Mentalist directly rather than relying on a search result from another country.
- Confirm that the title page offers playable episodes, not merely a regional listing or search-index entry.
- Check the season selector to see whether all seven seasons are included.
U.S. alternatives if Netflix does not have it
Hulu
The U.S. availability check cited above listed Hulu as the principal subscription-streaming option. Hulu’s catalog can change, and availability may depend on the plan or location, so confirm the current title page before starting a subscription specifically for the show.
Digital purchase
U.S. viewers were also reported to have purchase options through Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango At Home. A digital purchase can be a better fit than a new subscription for someone who wants to watch selected seasons, but prices, episode packaging, and ownership or download terms should be reviewed on the retailer’s current listing.

DVD complete series
For viewers who want every season without depending on changing streaming rights, The Mentalist complete series DVD is a durable alternative. Target lists a Warner Home Video release with all seven seasons, a May 13, 2025 release date, and a total runtime of 6,228 minutes. Best Buy and Walmart also list complete-series DVD versions.
This is a DVD set, not a claim that a Blu-ray edition is included. Retailer stock, packaging, and prices can vary. Buying the box set provides the series on physical media; it does not provide access to Netflix or any other streaming service.
What viewers should take away
The accurate version of the announcement is: The Mentalist arrived on Netflix on March 1, 2026, in selected international markets, including the U.K., Canada, Australia, and parts of Latin America. It was not reported as a U.S. Netflix release. American viewers should check Hulu or digital purchase services, or choose the complete-series DVD if they want a less catalog-dependent way to keep all 151 episodes.
