Nessy on The Masked Singer Season 13 was singer-songwriter Edwin McCain. FOX revealed McCain during the quarterfinal episode “Soundtrack of My Life Night,” which aired April 23, 2025. The clues pointed toward his love songs, family life and career history, though the available clue guide does not establish McCain’s intended explanation for every hint.
Who was Nessy on The Masked Singer Season 13?
Nessy was Edwin McCain, the singer-songwriter known for love songs including “I’ll Be.” FOX’s official reveal clip identifies McCain as the celebrity behind the costume: FOX’s Nessy reveal.
When was Nessy unmasked?
FOX lists the reveal in Season 13, Episode 11, “Quarter Finals: Soundtrack of My Life Night.” The episode aired April 23, 2025, ran 43 minutes and featured the final five, with one celebrity set to reveal their identity while the others advanced to the semifinals. See FOX’s episode listing.
Nessy had first appeared with four other masks in the Group C premiere during Carnival Night on March 26, according to What to Watch’s Season 13 guide, last updated April 24, 2025. That guide spells the character “Nessie” in its headline; this article uses “Nessy,” the spelling in the topic.

What did Nessy’s clues suggest?
The clue details below come from What to Watch’s retrospective guide. They offer plausible connections to McCain’s career and personal life, but the guide does not provide a full, official explanation from McCain of what each clue was meant to reveal.
Family, privacy and a return to the spotlight
Early on, Nessy said he had taken a long break to be with family and was glad to return to the limelight. The character voiceover called him a “gentle giant” and described someone private and mysterious who could enjoy recognition as well as time with family. Those themes fit McCain’s public profile as a singer-songwriter, but they are clues, not proof of a specific intention behind each line.

Love songs and a rivalry with *NSYNC
On Boy Band Night, a T-shirt clue identified Nessy as someone known for love songs. He also recalled competing with *NSYNC for TRL spots, chart positions and CD sales. In the same package, he described playing golf with the group at a celebrity tournament: the game went badly, but the experience mattered to him.
REO Speedwagon and the 1980s
During Decades Night, Nessy said two children had famously covered his music, earning him “cool dad points.” His voiceover linked the 1980s to REO Speedwagon, whose music influenced his love-song writing. He also said he had opened for the band and used one of its songs at his wedding.

The Pat Monahan denial and the daughter clue
Nessy denied being Pat Monahan. Later, the “Soundtrack of My Life” clue package described being moved by a song connected with his daughter. The guide’s account is consistent with Nessy performing Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons,” but that connection comes from the clue package and should not be treated as a separate, confirmed explanation from McCain.
What songs did Nessy perform?
What to Watch lists five Nessy performances. This is a secondary-source list; FOX’s episode synopsis does not independently enumerate Nessy’s songs.
