Who is in The Hunt for Gollum?
The initial announcement named Andy Serkis as director and star, and said Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens would write the screenplay with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. It also named Peter Jackson, Walsh, and Boyens as producers. The 2024 announcement did not provide a complete cast list.
In April 2026, TheWrap reported that Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood would return, and that Jamie Dornan would play Strider, the name used for Aragorn before his identity is fully known in the story. TheWrap’s casting report is the source for those reported roles. These reports do not establish every rumored or later cast addition.
