What the ranking measures
The ordering is based on each film’s reported worldwide theatrical gross, using the figures listed in Box Office Watch’s Emily Blunt filmography. Worldwide gross is the total reported for theatrical markets; the domestic column is a separate category, not the ranking metric. All amounts are in US dollars.
These totals are not inflation-adjusted and do not show studio profit, a film’s return after costs, or Emily Blunt’s compensation. Box Office Mojo likewise separates domestic, international and worldwide chart categories, and notes Oppenheimer among films that never reached number one. A large worldwide total alone does not establish that a movie led its release-year chart or was profitable.

How to read the close comparisons
Edge of Tomorrow ranks third despite a lower domestic gross than several films below it, because its reported worldwide total is higher. Conversely, Into the Woods has a domestic gross above Jungle Cruise’s but a lower worldwide gross. That is why the global and domestic columns should not be treated as interchangeable rankings.
The two 2026 entries are time-sensitive: reported grosses may change as theatrical reporting is updated. The figures here reflect the selected tracker’s current reported totals and should be read as estimates rather than immutable final amounts.

Why some trackers show different totals
Box Office Watch is used for every row so that the films are ranked on one consistent basis. FilmDB’s Emily Blunt filmography confirms Oppenheimer as the leading title in its list, but reports different totals for several films: $952.0 million for Oppenheimer, $348.8 million for Mary Poppins Returns, $341.0 million for A Quiet Place, and $691.4 million for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The available pages do not explain the discrepancies, which may reflect different datasets or update practices. Mixing those figures with Box Office Watch’s would make the table inconsistent.
