Disney’s January announcement placed Pixar’s Inside Out 2 second and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen 2 third among the studio’s top animated MPA releases. The announcement’s inclusion of both Pixar and Disney Animation makes the studio boundary important when interpreting any “Disney movies” ranking.

These verified entries are not a complete ordered top ten. Other titles among Disney’s leading animated releases include Frozen 2, Frozen, Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, Toy Story 3, and Moana 2, but this article does not assign them a precise order or gross without comparable current title-level figures. A compiled list also includes The Lion King (2019), whose photorealistic CGI style is often treated as a live-action remake rather than animation; there is no universal classification convention established here, so it is excluded from the table.
Does this list include Pixar?
Yes. “Disney” can mean Walt Disney Animation Studios alone or the broader Walt Disney Studios umbrella that also includes Pixar. This ranking uses the broader meaning because Disney’s own January 2026 comparison of top animated MPA releases includes both Pixar’s Inside Out 2 and Disney Animation’s Frozen 2. Pixar’s Toy Story 5 also belongs in the broader animated Disney comparison.

A Disney Animation-only list would be a different ranking and would exclude Pixar films. The figures in the table should therefore not be read as a Walt Disney Animation Studios-only chart.

Worldwide grosses can move as a film continues its theatrical run, returns to theaters, or receives updated database totals. Box Office Mojo’s Zootopia page separates the original release from re-releases, while its all-releases total combines them. For that reason, a gross needs a source and a snapshot date; totals taken from different dates should not be compared as if they were frozen at the same moment.
