The Herdsman Market is a food retailer in Churchlands, near central Perth. The store describes itself as family-run and says it has worked directly with local Western Australian farmers for more than 40 years. That history and positioning are the retailer’s own description.
Its official site lists fresh produce, groceries, a delicatessen, chef-made meals, a gourmet butcher, bakery, seafood, flowers and barista coffee. The site also presents the market as a collection of specialist food departments, including a fish merchant, dough room, creative meats and Reverie Coffee. Buy West Eat Best’s member profile similarly describes onsite bakery, butcher, florist, fishmonger and cafe services, as well as platter orders through the kitchen.
Which high-profile customers did staff mention?
In a 24 March 2025 report, PerthNow said staff took turns naming notable encounters in a social video posted by the market. The people named included Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, West Coast Eagles player Harley Reid and former professional boxer Danny Green, alongside Adrian Barich, Caitlin Bassett, Em Davies and Maggie Beer.

These are staff recollections reported by PerthNow, not a verified customer register. The report calls Ricciardo an “apparent regular”; it does not establish that the other people named are regular customers.
Why is Harley Reid associated with the store?
Reid’s connection to the market also appears in a separate PerthNow report published on 23 April 2024. It said Reid answered questions in a TikTok posted by The Herdsman Market and called it his “number one” grocery store. That is a reported personal preference, not evidence of a paid endorsement or an independently assessed ranking.
