Breezeway Cave: a later exploration account
In a 1996 account of Breezeway Cave exploration, Richard Rhinehart placed Silent Splendor in the recent history of Colorado caving. He opened with: “Fresh from the discovery of the Cave of the Winds’ celebrated Silent Splendor, Colorado cavers turned to other promising excavations.” The account reports “Several thousand feet” discovered in Breezeway Cave’s lower level; that figure belongs to Breezeway, not Silent Splendor.
