What did Desi Lydic joke about?
Lydic made the tattoo-image dispute the setup for a joke about the Gulf of America map displayed in the Oval Office. As quoted by TheWrap, she said: “He thinks ‘Gulf of America’ is actually written on top of the water!” The punchline compared Trump’s insistence about the lettering in the image with the idea that a map label was literally printed on the water.
The segment also turned to Trump’s remarks about the Declaration of Independence. Mediaite reports that Trump called it “a declaration of unity and love and respect.” Lydic replied, “Unity is the opposite of independence,” and compared the colonies’ break with Britain to filing for divorce.
