The official trailer for The Crow (2024) follows Bill Skarsgård as Eric, a murdered man given a supernatural chance to seek revenge and save Shelly, played by FKA twigs. Lionsgate describes the film as a modern reimagining of James O’Barr’s original graphic novel. The trailer frames the story as a brutal revenge quest, but it does not establish how the remake has been received by critics or audiences.
What does the new The Crow trailer reveal?
Published by Lionsgate on March 14, 2024, the official trailer introduces Eric and Shelly as soulmates whose lives are cut short by a brutal murder. Eric returns with a mission to pursue their killers, moving between the worlds of the living and the dead.
The trailer’s central conflict is more than revenge. Lionsgate’s official synopsis says Eric is given a chance to save Shelly by sacrificing himself. The film’s supernatural premise therefore turns his pursuit into a choice between vengeance and the possibility of restoring the person he loves.
Skarsgård plays Eric, while FKA twigs plays Shelly. Danny Huston is also named among the stars in the trailer description. Watch the official trailer from Lionsgate.

Why is Eric on a quest for revenge?
In the trailer’s setup, Eric and Shelly are murdered, and Eric is given a path back from death. He sets out against those responsible, with the chance to save Shelly shaping the stakes of his mission. Lionsgate sums up the premise this way: “Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.”
The description promises a violent revenge story and a supernatural struggle, but it is a synopsis rather than a scene-by-scene account. It does not establish the full sequence of events or the precise terms of Eric’s choice.

How does the 2024 film relate to James O’Barr’s graphic novel?
Lionsgate calls The Crow a “modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr.” That identifies the graphic novel as the film’s source material while framing the movie as a new interpretation. The trailer description does not make a detailed comparison with the 1994 film, so it cannot establish which scenes, story details, or character elements the new version shares with that adaptation.
