Short answer: the “Bugs Bunny Challenge” is an older TikTok visual-performance trend, not a newly verified 2026 breakout. In its best-known version, a creator lies on their stomach, raises sock-covered feet behind their head so they look like rabbit ears, and moves them to a slowed excerpt of “Gucci” by Timati featuring Egor Kreed. The major viral wave was in March 2021.
The name comes from the way listeners interpreted a repeated Russian-language lyric—not from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, Warner Bros. promotion or an official Looney Tunes campaign.
What the Bugs Bunny Challenge looks like
The format is better described as a sound-synchronized visual illusion than as a conventional dance. The camera or a mirror shows the participant’s face while their raised feet appear behind the head. The feet open into a V or gently “flop” like bunny ears when the recognizable part of the audio plays.

How to recreate it
What you need
- A smartphone that can record video
- A stable shelf, stand or tripod—never a phone held in your hand during the movement
- A mirror, or a camera angle wide enough to show both your face and feet
- Socks that contrast with the background; white socks were common in early examples
- A clear, padded, non-slip floor
Step-by-step
- Clear the area. Remove hard furniture, clutter, pets and anything that could cause a collision.
- Secure the phone. Set it on a stable surface or tripod. Test the frame before attempting the pose.
- Create the perspective. Use a mirror or place the camera so your head and the space above it are visible at the same time.
- Lie on your stomach. Keep your torso supported and your neck in a neutral, comfortable position.
- Bend your knees slowly. Bring your lower legs upward only as far as your hips, knees and hamstrings allow without pain.
- Raise the feet behind your head. The socked feet provide the apparent “ears.” Do not force them toward your neck.
- Choose the sound. Use the section containing the phrase that listeners hear as “Bugs Bunny.”
- Move gently in time. Open the feet into a V or make small ear-like motions. Large movements are unnecessary.
- Skip the advanced hip lift if unsure. It is not required for the visual gag.
- Review and edit. Reposition the camera, crop the clip or use a cut if the illusion is unclear.
Contemporary explainers describe the same stomach-down position, socked feet behind the head and V-shaped movement (for example, Dexerto’s 2021 guide).
Which sound is used?
Most coverage identifies the source as “Gucci” by Timati featuring Egor Kreed, heard in a slowed-down TikTok remix or excerpt. The sound is also associated with the label “самый грязный заяц,” often translated as “the dirtiest rabbit.” TikTok’s sound names can differ by uploader, country, licensing status and repost, so no single label is guaranteed to appear.
In TikTok’s sound library, try searching Bugs Bunny, Gucci, Timati or Egor Kreed. The most reliable route is to open a surviving video and tap its sound attribution. Do not assume that an audio file downloaded elsewhere is authorized for re-upload.

The “Bugs Bunny” wording is a listener’s phonetic interpretation of the lyric. It does not indicate that the song was written for the cartoon character.
Where did it originate?
The exact origin of the human feet-as-ears routine has not been conclusively established. Available documentation traces an earlier use of the sound to an August 2020 TikTok featuring a Doberman associated with @gerda.doberman. Human versions spread widely in early March 2021, with contemporary reporting pointing to creators including Anya Ischuk and Egor Kreed.

Is it a new trend in 2026?
There is no reliable evidence in the supplied record of a new, platform-wide 2026 explosion. Current CapCut and search pages still use “Bugs Bunny Challenge” wording, but generic templates and automatically generated trend pages do not establish a fresh TikTok surge. They can also mix this pose with unrelated Bugs Bunny edits, filters and animation clips.
It is more accurate to call the format a 2021 TikTok trend that may periodically resurface. Any article or post describing it as “new” should be checked for its publication date.
Safety matters
This is a flexibility-based stunt, not a beginner dance. Raising the feet behind the head can stress the hips, knees, hamstrings, ankles, lower back or neck. Do not attempt it if you have a current or recent injury in those areas, and never balance on your neck or compress your head against the floor.

- Have another person nearby when trying the position for the first time.
- Move gradually; never force the feet into place.
- Stop immediately for pain, numbness, dizziness, cramping or loss of balance.
- Keep bedrooms, documents, children and identifying objects out of a mirror’s background.
The safest alternative is an edited recreation: film the face and feet in separate shots, use a cut or change the camera angle, and synchronize the clips to the sound. That preserves the joke without requiring extreme flexibility.

Search surviving videos and try “Bugs Bunny,” “Gucci,” Timati or Egor Kreed. Availability can vary by country, account and licensing changes. A substitute track may not match the original timing.
