Mashable’s December 16, 2024 ranking named Oddity its best horror movie of the year, but the retrievable excerpt confirms only some positions—not all 22. Its streaming notes are also historical, not a current availability guide. Here are the positions and viewing options the published list supports, with the limits made clear.
What the 2024 ranking confirms
Mashable published its list on December 16, 2024; Yahoo Entertainment republished it. The available excerpt preserves some ranks and names additional films without reliably attaching their positions. This is an editorial selection, not an objective measurement or industry-wide consensus. The ranking should not be presented as a complete, verified 22-film order.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the list’s horror label is broad
The selection includes films whose genre can reasonably be described in more than one way. The excerpt itself calls Trap more of a thriller and notes that Caddo Lake could be read as science fiction or mystery. If you want supernatural or slasher horror specifically, treat the ranking as a broad year-end selection rather than a strict subgenre list.
