The 2025 Golden Globes’ standout menswear looks showed how far formalwear can move beyond a standard black tuxedo: teal velvet and a bucket hat, head-to-toe blue, mixed patterns, and sharply tailored suits with oversized jewelry all made the carpet. The selections below reflect editorial judgments by British Vogue, GQ, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), not an official award for best dressed.
The 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 5, 2025. British Vogue wrote that “Men’s fashion on the red carpet has come on leaps and bounds in recent years – as evidenced by the 82nd edition of the Golden Globes.” The CFDA likewise described the ceremony as the kickoff to Hollywood’s awards season, where celebrity style helps set the tone.
Across British Vogue’s shortlist and GQ’s broader red-carpet gallery, the most memorable outfits made their mark in distinct ways: through color, pattern, silhouette, or a personal accessory. Here are the looks that best illustrate that range.
Color and accessories that changed the mood
Jeremy Strong in teal velvet
British Vogue described Jeremy Strong’s outfit as a teal velvet suit with a matching bucket hat by Loro Piana; GQ also identified the look as Loro Piana and singled out the hat. The rich color and coordinated accessory gave a formal suit a distinctive, slightly unexpected character without abandoning tailoring.

Pattern and texture with confidence
Colman Domingo’s pattern mix
Colman Domingo paired a polka-dot shirt with a gingham cravat in a Valentino look, according to British Vogue; GQ also listed Valentino. The combination works as an example of pattern mixing because the shirt and neckwear each make a clear statement rather than disappearing into a plain tuxedo shirt-and-bow-tie formula.
Timothée Chalamet in Haider Ackermann for Tom Ford
Timothée Chalamet wore Tom Ford, with British Vogue identifying the look as Haider Ackermann for the label and describing it as channeling Bob Dylan. GQ and the CFDA also noted the significance of the outfit as a first look from Ackermann’s work for Tom Ford. It stood out not only as a red-carpet outfit, but as an early public example of a designer’s vision for the house.

Tailoring, proportion, and personal detail
Adrien Brody’s three-piece suit and brooch
The CFDA described Adrien Brody’s outfit as a made-to-measure, three-piece Thom Browne tuxedo. GQ drew attention to the contrast between its shrunken proportions and an enormous brooch. That pairing shows how one bold accessory can shift the effect of precise tailoring, making the look feel individual rather than simply formal.
Jeff Goldblum’s departure from the classic tuxedo

British Vogue also included Daniel Craig in Armani, Alton Mason, Adam Brody in Prada, and Eddie Redmayne among its selected looks. GQ’s gallery added Andrew Garfield in Gucci, Dwayne Johnson in Dolce & Gabbana, Hwang Dong-hyuk in Louis Vuitton, Miles Teller in Dolce & Gabbana, Ke Huy Quan in Thom Browne, and Mark Eydelshteyn in Prada. Together, the selections offer a broader view of the evening than any single shortlist.
The official Golden Globes arrivals record provides another documented outfit detail: Jack Lowden wore Dior, including Dior shoes and a Dior brooch, alongside an OMEGA watch.
