Spoiler warning: Grant Ellis chose Juliana Pasquarosa over Litia Garr in The Bachelor Season 29 finale, proposed in the Dominican Republic and received a yes. But the televised engagement was not the final chapter: Grant and Juliana announced on June 13, 2025, that they had broken up.

Who did Grant choose in The Bachelor finale?

Grant Ellis chose Juliana Pasquarosa over Litia Garr in The Bachelor Season 29 finale. He proposed to Juliana in the Dominican Republic, and she said yes.

That was the televised ending when the finale aired on March 24, 2025. It was not, however, the couple’s lasting happily-ever-after: Grant and Juliana announced on June 13, 2025 that they had ended their relationship.

The final two: Juliana Pasquarosa and Litia Garr

The finale came down to Juliana and Litia, two relationships Grant had allowed to develop deep into the season. Litia was not an early-round contestant who unexpectedly made a late run; she was one of the final two women and had received strong reassurance from Grant earlier in the season.

That history made the finale especially painful. Grant’s final decision was not presented as a simple choice between a clear favorite and a distant alternative. Instead, the episode emphasized how much emotional ground he had covered with both women—and how much damage the final decision would cause.

Why the decision felt so close

Grant entered the final stage still visibly torn. Rather than presenting the proposal as an inevitable conclusion, the episode showed him trying to determine which relationship could work beyond the show. Family conversations became part of that process, with Grant seeking advice before the final dates and ceremony.

The result was a finale built around uncertainty. Grant appeared to be choosing between two serious relationships, not merely completing a plan that had been settled several episodes earlier. That is what made the episode feel as though it went down to the wire.

It is fair to describe the choice as unusually delayed or closely fought based on the episode’s editing and contemporaneous coverage. It would be a stronger claim than the available evidence supports, though, to call it the latest decision in Bachelor franchise history. The finale showed a late, difficult decision—but not a verified all-time record.

Grant proposes to Juliana in the Dominican Republic

Grant ultimately decided that Juliana was the person with whom he wanted to continue. At the final rose ceremony in the Dominican Republic, he proposed to her.

Juliana accepted, giving Season 29 the romantic climax the franchise promises: a proposal, a yes, and a couple leaving the show engaged. The setting and ceremony supplied the visual happy ending, but the emotional tension leading into it remained important. Grant had not made the choice without hesitation, and Litia’s place in the final two made the outcome consequential for more than just the winning couple.

Litia Garr’s heartbreaking exit

Litia’s departure was the finale’s emotional counterweight to the proposal. She had reached the final two and had reason to believe that her relationship with Grant was moving toward a future. Being rejected at that stage meant losing not only the competition but also a relationship that had seemed increasingly serious.

The contrast shaped the entire episode: Grant was making a public commitment to Juliana while Litia was left to process why the relationship she believed in had not been enough. That is why reducing the finale to “Grant picks Juliana” misses much of what made it divisive. The proposal was celebratory, but the route to it involved a painful and highly consequential breakup.

What Grant and Juliana said after the finale

Immediately after the finale, Grant and Juliana described themselves as happily engaged. They also sounded cautious about what would come next. Rather than rushing to announce a wedding or a plan for children, they talked about experiencing ordinary relationship milestones outside the show first.

That meant learning how they handled family time, travel, disagreements and day-to-day life—the parts of a relationship that a filmed dating experiment cannot fully reproduce. Their comments suggested that the engagement was real, but that they understood an on-camera proposal was only the beginning of a much longer test.

Readers looking to revisit the season should verify current territory and platform availability before signing up: availability for watching The Bachelor Season 29 can change, and ABC and Hulu may not offer identical access in every location.

The engagement ended in June 2025

On June 13, 2025, Grant and Juliana separately announced that they were no longer together. Grant said that, after deep conversations, they had come to understand that they were not the right long-term fit. Both statements treated the relationship as meaningful and expressed care or respect rather than hostility.

Later reporting included additional details from Juliana about the timing. She said they were no longer on the same page after the finale aired and that the breakup had happened weeks before the public announcement. That account should be understood as Juliana’s retrospective description of the timeline, rather than as a fully documented joint chronology.

The important confirmed point is simpler: the engagement shown in the finale did not continue. Grant and Juliana did not marry, and the available reporting supports an engagement followed by a breakup—not a wedding or an ongoing marriage.

The real ending of Grant’s Bachelor story

As television, the Season 29 finale ended with Grant proposing to Juliana and Juliana saying yes. As a relationship story, it ended later and differently. The couple’s engagement lasted only part of the period between the finale’s broadcast and their June announcement.

That does not erase the finale’s significance or make the proposal meaningless. It does change how the episode should be described now. Grant’s on-air happily-ever-after was Juliana, but the lasting outcome of the season was that they ultimately decided they were not a long-term match.
