Netflix’s Canadian filming-location map names Nakoda Lakeside Lodge, Stoney 142, 143, 144, Alberta as a location for The Abandons. This is the clearest specifically named filming site in the available official listing.

The map describes the series as having been filmed in several locations and invites users to select an area to explore. Its accessible listing does not provide a complete, detailed itinerary, so the lodge should not be treated as the only place used in production.
Alberta landscapes and The Revenant connection
In an interview with What’s on Netflix, director Stephen Surjik said the production worked in Alberta and used locations where The Revenant had filmed. Where is the story set?
Netflix’s The Abandons Media Center page places the story in Washington Territory in 1854. That is the drama’s fictional setting, not its filming location: the named site on Netflix’s location map is in Alberta, Canada.
Can you visit the filming locations?
Netflix’s map confirms that Nakoda Lakeside Lodge is listed as a filming location, but it does not say whether visitors can enter the property or access production areas. Check directly with the lodge for current visitor information before planning a visit; do not assume a filming-location listing means the site is open to the public.
