The bundle put two different types of streaming libraries under one discounted subscription: Hulu’s television episodes, Hulu Originals, FX programming and films, plus Disney+ programming associated with Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Catalogs change, so those categories should not be read as a permanent list of available titles.
How much could subscribers save?
At $2.99 per month for 12 months, the subscription payments totaled $35.88 before taxes. Comparing that with the then-regular $10.99 monthly price produces a nominal first-year difference of $96.12. The discounted price was approximately 72.8% below the regular rate.
That calculation uses the advertised promotional and comparison prices. It does not account for taxes, later price changes or any other terms in an individual subscriber’s account.
Who was eligible?
The offer was aimed at new subscribers and eligible returning subscribers. Existing Disney Bundle, Hulu, Disney+ or ESPN+ subscribers were generally excluded, including subscribers billed through third parties. Returning customers generally needed to have been inactive for more than one month.

Eligibility was ultimately controlled by the promotion’s terms and the account’s billing history. Someone who had recently canceled, subscribed through a third-party provider or already held one of the relevant services should not have assumed that the $2.99 price would apply.
What the deal did not include
- No ad-free upgrade: The promotion applied to the ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu.
- No ESPN+: ESPN+ was not part of this Disney+ and Hulu offer.
- No three-service bundle: It did not include the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle.
- No permanent price lock: The $2.99 rate lasted for 12 months, subject to the promotion’s terms.
The advertising limitation was the most important trade-off. Viewers received access to both services at an unusually low price, but they had to use ad-supported plans rather than the ad-free tiers.
What happened after the 12 months?
A promotional subscription could renew at the then-current regular monthly rate after the discounted period. Anyone who claimed the deal needed to check the account’s renewal details before the 12 months ended and cancel or change the plan if the standard price no longer suited their budget.
Cancellation timing and billing rules can vary by the service or billing provider. A subscriber billed directly by Disney or Hulu may have different account controls from someone who subscribed through a third party.

Can you still get Hulu and Disney+ for $2.99?
No—not based on the 2024 promotion. The public deadline was December 2, 2024, and the offer has expired. The current Hulu bundle page lists the Disney+ and Hulu bundle at $12.99 per month as of August 12, 2026. Prices and terms can change, so readers considering a current subscription should verify the live offer before paying.
The services were still separate subscription products, with customers using the Hulu and Disney+ apps separately after signing up. Disney has discussed a more integrated Disney+ and Hulu app experience planned for 2026, but that product-development news does not revive the old $2.99 promotion or change its historical terms.
Was there another Black Friday deal?
Disney used a similar strategy in Black Friday 2025, but the reported price was higher: $4.99 per month for 12 months for the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle. The official 2025 promotional period ran from November 25 through December 1, 2025, for new and eligible returning subscribers.
That later offer is useful context, but it does not guarantee a repeat at $2.99—or at any particular price—for Black Friday 2026. Streaming promotions are temporary and can change in price, eligibility, included services and billing terms from year to year.

How to watch the services
You do not need special hardware if your television already has compatible Hulu and Disney+ apps. You can also watch through supported phones, tablets, computers, game consoles and streaming platforms, subject to each service’s current compatibility and account requirements.
If you have an older television without the necessary apps, an optional Fire TV Stick HD for Full HD streaming can provide a way to install and open supported streaming apps. It is a separate purchase, is not included with any Hulu or Disney+ subscription promotion and is not necessary for televisions that already support the services. Amazon’s product documentation describes the Fire TV Stick HD as a Full HD streaming device designed to start apps quickly.
Bottom line
The headline was compelling because it offered two major streaming services for less than $3 per month, but it described a specific U.S. Black Friday 2024 promotion. The deal covered only ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu, excluded ESPN+, required new or eligible returning subscribers, ended on December 2, 2024 and lasted for 12 months. It should not be presented as an available price today.
