What “biggest” means on this chart
JustWatch says its Streaming Charts use user activity from the last 24 hours, seven days or 30 days. Signals include clicking a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist and marking it as seen. The chart is updated daily; JustWatch says its service covers 140 countries and 4,500 streaming services and is powered by more than 50 million monthly users. Those figures describe JustWatch’s own service and methodology, not independently audited viewing totals.

“This week” is the editorial framing here. JustWatch allows different activity windows and updates the chart daily, so the October 8 ranking is a dated snapshot rather than a fixed weekly measurement.
Why this is not a most-watched ranking
JustWatch measures actions by its users, not how many minutes the general U.S. audience watched each program. Nielsen’s U.S. streaming Top 10 uses a different signal: total minutes viewed among people ages 2 and older, based on viewing through television. Nielsen also notes that its viewing data include streaming beyond the providers displayed, which identify providers with program-level data in particular Nielsen reporting systems.

Because the services measure different audiences, devices, time windows and behaviors, their rankings are not directly interchangeable. The JustWatch list answers which shows are prominent by activity on its chart; it does not establish which programs drew the most total viewing time in the United States. Nielsen’s methodology is available on its Top 10 page.

A separate Tom’s Guide report dated October 6, 2026, drew on the Netflix U.S. Top 10 for that date and identified East of Eden as Netflix’s latest No. 1 show in that snapshot. It describes the series as a seven-part period drama created and written by Zoe Kazan and based on John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel. This is a useful recent Netflix-specific cross-check for the chart’s top title, but it is neither an October 8 Netflix ranking nor a comparison of viewing across streaming services.
