Terrarium TV cannot be repaired. The original app was permanently discontinued in 2018. If it shows “No Data,” fails to load links, crashes, or asks you to install a newer APK, the cause is not an ordinary cache or Wi-Fi problem. Do not download copies claiming to be “Terrarium TV 2025,” “Terrarium TV 2026,” or version 9.9.9. Use the checks below only to determine whether your device or another legitimate streaming app has a separate problem.
Is Terrarium TV down or permanently shut down?
Terrarium TV is permanently closed, not temporarily offline. Its original shutdown notice said that the service had ended, users would see “No Data,” the update button would not work, and version 9.9.9 did not exist. TorrentFreak reported the developer’s permanent closure on September 11, 2018.

“No Data” is consistent with the service having ceased operations. The app no longer has maintained infrastructure, development, catalog data, or working source links from the original service. Clearing its cache, changing DNS settings, using a VPN, switching media players, or reinstalling an APK cannot recreate that backend.

If a download page promises a new official build, treat it as unofficial. The original site specifically warned that redistributed APKs were not affiliated with the developer. That does not prove that every unofficial copy contains malware, but its origin and contents cannot be verified.
Does Terrarium TV version 9.9.9 exist?
No. The original shutdown notice states that “version 9.9.9” does not exist. Avoid pages advertising it or offering “the latest working Terrarium TV APK.” A newer file name does not mean the original developer returned.
First, check whether the device or network is the real problem
- Open another legitimate app. Try YouTube or a service installed from the device’s official app store.
- Compare the symptoms. If several apps fail, investigate the device, account, or network. If only Terrarium TV fails, its permanent discontinuation is the likely explanation.
- Test the connection. Try another device on the same Wi-Fi, another network, or a wired connection where available.
- Restart the router and streaming device. Use the device’s restart command rather than relying only on a remote’s power button, which may place a TV in standby.

Google TV and Android TV troubleshooting
These steps may fix a legitimate app or a broader device problem. They will not restore Terrarium TV.

Check the network
On Google TV, open Settings > Network & Internet and confirm that the intended Wi-Fi network is connected. If multiple devices cannot stream, restart the router and check the broadband connection.
Install system updates
On Google TV, use Settings > System > About > System update > Check for update. On some Android TV devices, the path is Settings > About > System software update > Software update. Menu names vary by manufacturer and operating-system version.
Force-stop a legitimate app
On Google TV, go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > [app] > Force stop > OK. Reopen the app afterward. Google documents this in its Google TV app-crash guidance.

Clear cache or stored data
On Google TV, use Settings > Apps > See all apps > [app] > Clear data. On some Android TV devices, use Settings > Apps > System apps > [app] > Clear data > Clear cache.

Clearing data can sign you out and erase local preferences. It is reasonable for a legitimate app that is malfunctioning, but it cannot restore Terrarium TV’s discontinued service.
Update or reinstall a legitimate app
In the Google TV Play Store, select the profile icon, then Manage apps & games > Updates > Update all. Reinstall only apps obtained through the official platform store or the provider’s verified website.
Factory-reset only as a last resort
On Google TV, the reset path is Settings > System > About > Factory reset. A factory reset erases user data and will not make Terrarium TV work, so do not use it merely because that app is unavailable.

Samsung Smart TV
Terrarium TV was an Android application, not an official Samsung Smart TV service. For a legitimate Samsung app that freezes, Samsung recommends cold-booting the television, checking for software updates, deleting and reinstalling the app, and resetting Smart Hub only when necessary. Follow Samsung’s app troubleshooting instructions.

Amazon Fire TV
Do not treat a Fire TV-compatible Terrarium TV APK as official. For legitimate Fire TV apps, check whether other apps work, investigate the network if several fail, and update the device and app software. See this Fire TV app troubleshooting guide for the general diagnostic approach.
Roku TV
Terrarium TV was not a normal Roku Channel, and sideloading it is not a legitimate fix. If Roku-wide problems affect multiple services, use Roku or the television manufacturer’s support process. A factory reset should be considered only as a last resort because it removes device settings and accounts.
Generic Android boxes
Be particularly cautious with generic boxes that are not Google-certified or no longer receive reliable security updates. Remove unofficial Terrarium TV packages instead of trying multiple mirrors or modified APKs.

- Do not install files advertised as “Terrarium TV 2025,” “Terrarium TV 2026,” or “version 9.9.9.”
- Do not disable Play Protect or other device-security features to install an unverified package.
- Do not enter streaming-account credentials or payment details on unofficial download pages.
- Do not assume a VPN or DNS change can revive a discontinued service. A VPN changes network routing; it does not recreate servers or make unauthorized streams legitimate.
- Do not download “fully loaded” boxes or companion media players marketed around unofficial Terrarium TV access.
If you already installed an unofficial APK
- Uninstall the package.
- Remove unknown companion apps or media players installed at the same time.
- Run the device’s built-in security scan.
- Review permissions and revoke access that the app did not reasonably need.
- Change passwords if you granted sensitive permissions or notice suspicious account activity.
- Monitor payment accounts and avoid entering financial information into unofficial streaming pages.
These are sensible precautions because unofficial packages are unaffiliated and difficult to verify; they are not proof that every redistributed APK is malicious.

How to find movies and shows legally
Use JustWatch to search for a film or series and see which legitimate services currently offer it in your country. A title may be included with a subscription, available free with advertisements, offered for rental or purchase, or unavailable in your region. Catalogs, prices, advertisements, and availability change, so verify the provider before subscribing.
- Netflix — subscription streaming, with catalogs varying by country.
- Prime Video — subscription content plus rental and purchase options in many markets.
- Tubi — free, ad-supported streaming where available.
- Pluto TV — free, ad-supported live channels and on-demand programming where available.
Other lawful options can include a participating library’s streaming service, a one-time rental, or a digital purchase. No single replacement works everywhere, and a VPN should not be presented as a way around a service’s regional restrictions or terms.
The practical answer
If Terrarium TV alone fails, stop trying to repair or reinstall it: the original service ended permanently in 2018. If every streaming app fails, troubleshoot the network, device software, storage, or account. Remove unofficial Terrarium TV copies and use JustWatch or official streaming platforms to find the title you want.
