Teresa Palmer spoke publicly about a pregnancy loss in May 2024, sharing an Instagram video and caption before directing followers to a fuller account on her podcast, The Mother Daze. Her caption described the baby as her fifth and said she had carried the baby for three months; a contemporaneous report separately described the pregnancy as 10 weeks along.
What Teresa Palmer shared
In a video documenting her pregnancy and recovery after the loss, Palmer shared a personal caption on Instagram. As reproduced by WHO on May 10, 2024, she wrote: “Honoured and grateful to have been able to carry this little soul, my fifth baby, in my heart and body for the past three months.”
She also wrote, “It feels really good to be able to share my story,” and sent love to others who knew the pain of pregnancy loss: “To anyone who knows the pain of pregnancy loss, sending you immense love.”
What was reported about the timeline
The descriptions of the pregnancy’s length differ by source. Palmer’s caption, as reproduced by WHO, says she had carried the baby for “the past three months.” PerthNow’s May 10, 2024 report says the loss occurred 10 weeks into the pregnancy. These are distinct attributed accounts, rather than a single confirmed timeline.

PerthNow also reported that Palmer anticipated bad news before an appointment and called her husband, Mark Webber, afterward. The outlet quoted her recollection: “I called Mark, and I just said it’s not good news it’s bad news babe.” PerthNow reported that Webber “burst into tears immediately.”

How this differs from her earlier loss
The May 2024 disclosure is separate from a pregnancy loss Palmer experienced in 2015. A New Idea report from October 2018 described that earlier loss as a molar pregnancy. That description and its timeline refer to the 2015 experience, not the loss Palmer discussed in 2024.
In a later interview, Mamamia reported that Palmer reflected on her decision to share the 2024 experience and on the audience response. That retrospective discussion is distinct from her original Instagram caption.
