Australian DJ Fisher revealed a hair transplant in an Instagram update reported by PerthNow on 29 December 2024, saying he had kept it hidden under hats for about a year. The post came days before his scheduled Wildlands Festival performance in Perth on 4 January 2025; a follow-up report says he headlined the event and played an hour-long set.
What Fisher shared in the “hairy update”
PerthNow reported that Fisher revealed his hair transplant in an Instagram video and caption. The outlet attributed this line to the video: “Ah nothing like sand in my toes and wind in my hair, AHAHA.” It reported that the caption read: “HAIRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! BEEN KEEPING THIS ONE UNDER HATS 🤣🤣.” PerthNow’s 29 December 2024 report described the transplant as something he had kept under hats for about a year.
That account is PerthNow’s reporting of the post. The original Instagram content was not independently verified for this article, so the quoted wording and details should be understood as attributed to the outlet. PerthNow also described family photos and comments from followers about Fisher’s hair and his baby daughter, Bobbi.
How the update connects to Wildlands Perth
Fisher was listed for the Perth edition of Wildlands on 4 January 2025 at HBF Arena in Joondalup. Triple J’s 27 August 2024 lineup announcement included him among the festival’s 2024–25 artists.

PerthNow’s 6 January follow-up reported that Fisher headlined the Perth event and played an hour-long set. It also quoted his recap: “They do say West is best ???? That was gnarly shit whoo hoo”. The quote is reproduced as PerthNow reported it, rather than independently authenticated against the original social-media post. Read the follow-up report.
Is Fisher playing the next Wildlands Perth?
The 2025 appearance is historical, not a current booking. Wildlands’ official website lists its next Perth date as 2 January 2027 at Arena Joondalup. The festival’s current site also lists Brisbane on 31 December 2026.
