Ted Lasso season 4 has already premiered: Apple lists August 5, 2026 as its release date. The more uncertain news is what comes next. Reporting on Apple executive Eddy Cue’s comments suggests he sees more stories to tell, but Apple has not announced a season 5 renewal or schedule.
Is Ted Lasso season 5 confirmed?
No. The available report on Eddy Cue’s remarks points to the possibility of more Ted Lasso, not a formal fifth-season order. The distinction matters: an executive’s encouraging comments are not the same as a renewal announcement.

9to5Mac’s August 2026 report characterizes Cue as suggesting there are more stories to tell. That is a reported summary, not a verified verbatim transcript, so it should not be treated as an exact quotation or confirmation of a new season.
What is confirmed about season 4?
Apple announced the renewal on March 14, 2025, with Jason Sudeikis returning as star and executive producer. The season has since premiered; Apple’s series listing and premiere announcement both give Wednesday, August 5, 2026 as its release date.

Season 4’s premise moves Ted back to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s football team. Apple’s announcement names returning cast members Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, and new additions Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
Season 4 and season 5 have different statuses
| Season | What is established | What the evidence confirms |
|---|---|---|
| Season 4 | Officially renewed and released | Apple announced the renewal in March 2025; its official listing gives an August 5, 2026 release date. |
| Season 5 | Possible, but not confirmed | Reported executive remarks suggest there may be more stories, but no official renewal or schedule is established. |
Apple’s season 4 announcement, series listing and premiere announcement establish season 4’s status. Cue’s comments, as reported, do not establish a season 5 order.
