Taylor Swift’s first appearance on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce drew approximately 13 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, according to contemporaneous reports. It also attracted 1.3 million simultaneous YouTube viewers, a Guinness World Records-recognized record for a podcast on YouTube.
Those are two different achievements: 13 million is an accumulated view total, while 1.3 million measures the peak audience watching at the same time. The episode became New Heights’s most-viewed installment, but the 13-million figure should not automatically be described as YouTube’s all-time 24-hour podcast-view record.
What happened on Taylor Swift’s New Heights episode?
The episode premiered on August 13, 2025, with Swift joining brothers Jason and Travis Kelce. Coverage described it as Swift’s first podcast appearance, although that should be understood as her first reported podcast guest appearance—not a claim that she had never participated in any recorded or podcast-related audio format.
The YouTube edition ran for approximately one hour and 45 minutes. The audio version was roughly 20 minutes longer and included additional rapid-fire material, so viewers and listeners did not necessarily receive identical cuts on every platform. The episode was distributed through YouTube and podcast platforms, with early and ad-free access also available through Wondery+.

The numbers, separated
| Metric | Reported result | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube views | Approximately 13 million in about 24 hours | Accumulated plays counted by YouTube during the reporting window |
| Peak concurrent viewers | Approximately 1.3 million | The largest number of people watching simultaneously |
| Earlier milestones | About 8.9 million after 13 hours and 10.4 million after roughly 17 hours | Interim view totals, not separate audiences |
| Social clips | More than 400 million views, according to the Associated Press | A cross-platform total for distributed clips, not a unique-person count |
The approximately 13-million figure was reported by Variety and TheWrap. YouTube view counts can continue increasing after the first day, so the number describes the reported 24-hour milestone rather than a permanent final total.
Which records did the episode break?
It became the biggest New Heights episode
The Swift appearance surpassed the show’s previous YouTube high and became New Heights’s most-viewed episode, according to contemporaneous coverage. That is a show-specific record, not automatically a record for every podcast on YouTube.
Rank #2
It set a concurrent-viewer record for a YouTube podcast
Guinness World Records recognized the episode for attracting approximately 1.3 million concurrent viewers. This is the more precise record claim: the episode had an unusually large simultaneous audience during its YouTube premiere or live viewing window.

It was not necessarily YouTube’s overall 24-hour podcast-view leader
The 13 million total should not be presented as the universal 24-hour record for podcast videos on YouTube. Reporting cited a Donald Trump appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience as reaching a higher first-day total—roughly 26 million views—while Swift’s episode distinguished itself through concurrent viewing. The comparison illustrates why total views and simultaneous viewers must remain separate.

What Taylor Swift announced
Swift used the episode to announce her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, with an announced release date of October 3, 2025. That made the appearance more than a celebrity guest spot: it was also a major album announcement delivered through a podcast rather than a traditional television interview, magazine cover, or standalone music-industry event.
New Heights was an unusually effective venue because it connected Swift’s music audience with the Kelce brothers’ sports audience. Travis Kelce’s relationship with Swift supplied obvious fan interest, while Jason Kelce’s role gave the conversation a second host with his own large sports and entertainment following.

What Swift discussed
Reported subjects included Swift’s efforts to reclaim ownership of her master recordings, life after the Eras Tour, her relationship with Travis Kelce, Chiefs fandom, football culture, and the concept behind The Life of a Showgirl.

The longer audio edition included a rapid-fire segment that was not part of the shorter video cut, making the platform distinction relevant to anyone looking for the “full” conversation.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the episode reached such a large audience
- It was a rare long-form appearance: Swift’s scarcity as a podcast guest made the episode unusually newsworthy.
- It combined three major audiences: Swifties, NFL and Kansas City Chiefs fans, and established New Heights listeners.
- It contained a major announcement: viewers had a clear reason to watch the premiere rather than wait for short clips.
- The hosts added different forms of appeal: Travis Kelce brought the relationship and football connection, while Jason Kelce strengthened the show’s sports-media identity.
- Video made the conversation an event: YouTube allowed fans to watch a long-form appearance together and track its live or premiere-style audience.
- Clips extended the story: excerpts circulated on Instagram, TikTok, X, and other platforms, creating additional waves of attention.
The AP reported more than 400 million views for clips distributed across social platforms. That figure is useful evidence of the episode’s circulation, but it is not equivalent to 400 million unique people. The same person may have watched the full YouTube episode, several short clips, and an audio version.
What the episode says about podcasting
The performance shows how a modern podcast can function simultaneously as an interview, a livestream-style event, an album-promotion channel, and a clip-production engine. The audience was not generated by podcast discovery alone. It came from the intersection of celebrity scarcity, a major cultural announcement, sports fandom, an existing franchise, and platform-native video distribution.

It also demonstrates why podcast records need defined categories. A show can lead in total views, peak concurrent viewers, audio listening, clip circulation, or average watch time without leading in every category. Calling the Swift episode a record-breaker is accurate when the scope is specified: it was the biggest New Heights episode by reported YouTube views and set the Guinness-recognized concurrent-viewer record for a YouTube podcast at the time of recognition.
Where to watch or listen
- YouTube: The full video is available through the official New Heights channel. This is the straightforward free option, although advertising may apply.
- Wondery+: The service offers early and ad-free access, along with bonus content, through the show’s official Wondery page. A subscription is optional if a reader only wants this episode.
- Audio platforms: Wondery lists Apple Podcasts and Spotify among the show’s listening destinations. The audio version may differ in runtime and content from the YouTube edition.
The bottom line on the 13 million views
Taylor Swift’s August 13, 2025 appearance on New Heights reached approximately 13 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours and became the show’s most-viewed episode. Its clearest formal distinction, however, was the approximately 1.3 million concurrent viewers recognized by Guinness World Records. The episode’s importance came from the combination of total reach, simultaneous viewing, a new-album announcement, and cross-platform distribution—not from one undifferentiated “podcast record.”
