Who is the most-streamed female artist on Spotify?
Spotify’s official April 2026 all-time artist ranking puts Taylor Swift at number one overall. The company says the list reflects global Spotify streams as of April 2026. Ariana Grande is fifth overall, followed by Billie Eilish at eighth and Rihanna at sixteenth; these are positions in the top 20, not a complete ranking of every woman on the service.

Guinness World Records also identifies Swift as Spotify’s most-streamed female artist. Its published comparison, however, is dated February 24, 2024, and combines streams credited to an artist as both lead and featured performer.
How far ahead was Swift in the dated comparison?
In the Guinness World Records snapshot dated February 24, 2024, Swift had 73,076,127,138 combined lead and featured Spotify streams, compared with 44.23 billion for Ariana Grande. That is a substantial historical gap, but it should not be presented as the size of Swift’s current lead: Spotify’s April 2026 ranking provides positions rather than individual all-time totals in its article.

The credit definition matters. Guinness breaks Swift’s figure into 72,414,032,090 lead-artist streams and 662,095,048 featured-artist streams. Grande’s reported total combines 41.15 billion lead and 3.07 billion featured streams. Guinness notes that records can change daily and may not be published online immediately. Its record page is the source for that dated comparison.
How does her 2024 annual record compare?
Guinness reports that Swift received 26.6 billion Spotify streams globally during calendar year 2024. That was a one-year total, not her cumulative all-time count. Guinness describes it as the highest single-year total since Spotify began publishing its annual artist rankings in 2012. The figure is documented on its one-year female artist record page.

Other 2024 streaming figures use different populations and should not be treated as direct comparisons to Spotify’s all-time global list. The Associated Press, reporting Luminate’s 2024 Year-End Report, said global music streams reached 4.8 trillion across services, while US on-demand audio accounted for 1.4 trillion. In a separate US comparison of the top 100 pop artists, Swift had 12.8 billion streams; Billie Eilish had 4.46 billion, Sabrina Carpenter 3.71 billion, Ariana Grande 3.12 billion, Olivia Rodrigo 2.76 billion, and Chappell Roan 2.49 billion. Those are US, 2024 figures—not all-time Spotify totals.

The result depends on the platform and measure. Spotify’s ranking is global and cumulative, while the Guinness figures provide a dated lead-plus-featured comparison. Neither establishes how many times listeners have played these artists across every streaming service, radio, physical releases, or other formats combined.

The published Spotify list establishes order but does not give each artist’s current all-time total in the article. The cited figures therefore support the conclusion that Swift leads Spotify’s global all-time female-artist ranking, and that her lead over Grande was large in February 2024; they do not establish the exact present-day numerical gap or explain what caused it.
