Poole also praised her, saying: “Mum was incredible and so strong. It’s been a roller coaster twenty four hours but welcoming her into the world has made everything better”.

Her post, as quoted by PerthNow, read: “Boobs hurt. Head hurts from no sleep. Vagina hurts from episiotomy (had to get her out quick). Body hurts from blood loss. Don’t know what day or time it is BUT deeply happy in my love bubble,”
Was Posy born vaginally after caesareans?
Yes, according to the contemporary coverage. Hembrow’s two older children, Wolf and Saskia, had been born by caesarean. 7NEWS described Posy’s birth as an unmedicated VBA2C, meaning a vaginal birth after two caesareans. The outlet also reported that Hembrow was more than two weeks overdue; it did not give an exact number of days.

What was the baby’s name?
The June 19 announcement did not include her name. PerthNow reported on June 23 that Hembrow and Poole had named their daughter Posy. The reports also said the baby was born with 12 fingers, which Hembrow said she had also had at birth. 7NEWS reported that the parents planned to have the extra fingers removed shortly after birth; the cited reports do not establish whether or when that procedure took place.
